You know, I am absolutely sick of the garbage that has come out of Californication in the last couple of decades. A little baptism by either water or fire is in order. Let's start with the crapitoll:

I am a mechanical and not a civil engineer - but I can tell you that some folks had some major heads up arses on the design of that structure! Then, with the failure to properly repair the primary spillway back in 2013 when they detected problems, to the failure to properly riff-raff the pool area of the emergency spillway when they realized it would be used.
I am not sure if people are just freezing from the enormity of the problem at hand - or what - but it has been supremely frustrating for me, as an engineer, to see this come about.
It has to be a case of severe lib-tardism in Californication - I mean a serious case of it. And I just laugh and mock them over their attempts to save some river smelt in the delta always chanting to tear down the dams that perform flood control - and now this: who knows how many millions of tons of debris and silt to just tear things to shreds. They will now have to dredge the river - which will send all environmentalists running for their safe places, gently rocking in the fetal position and sobbing themselves into a psychotic sleep.
I mean, if it were not so danged non-sensical - it would be funny! Hopefully, the good people get out of the way - and the bulk of the damage occurs at the feet of those who made the ridiculous policies in the first place.
I always say the same thing about the judges who want to let un-vetted immigration into this country: let the illegal felon from another country rape their daughter, or drunkenly smash into them on the highways. No thanks for me and mine.
We, as a nation, are reaping what we are sowing and what we have sown for the past 50 years and more. And the very reason that I have chosen to get the heck out as the deluge of stupidity goes sweeping by and common sense is beached, high and dry....
My friends parents live in Yuba city. They just ran for their lives. They had to leave their 97 year old paralyzed mother in a nursing facility. They are good conservative god fearing people. I think your comments are rather harsh.
ReplyDeleteCalifornia is two states. The northern California are mostly conservative republican farmers / small company lifestyles. I am actually torn about seeing this happen. This should be affecting Southern California who is the one who has taken California down the wrong paths. Don't get me wrong Oroville is a corrupted people but for the most part the Northern California area is a completely friendly loving people. God be with them at this time.
ReplyDeleteThis will affect our meat, vegetable and fruit/nut industry. Might want to stock up if this dam overflows and floods this area.
The church owns a lot of farm land in these areas as well - this may affect the bishops storehouse in large amounts.
From a macro perspective, this is a type, representative of a civilization in decline to have not kept up with the maintenance of infrastructure. California is in great debt and social welfare programs take precedence. We see the same thing with the levees in Louisiana breaking down and flooding New Orleans all because we have to please the lowest common denominator of our civilization who vote for all the goodies.
