THE ABILITY TO BE PERFECT IN THIS LIFE

I concur completely with this:

Can we be “perfect” in this life?
Jesus was the literal seed of Abraham. (Matthew 1:16) You and I can be “adopted in”. He was called the “Son of God” (God's seed) because he received not the fulness at first. He continued from “grace to grace” or “received” “grace for grace” (D&C 93:12-13). In other words, He continued from “enabling power to enabling power”. “Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” (Luke 2:52)
Even though Christ was sinless, He also went through a process of “being made perfect.”
Hebrews 5:8 THOUGH he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Noah and Job are both recorded as being “just and perfect” men. We, like them, can be made “perfect” by following the example that Christ set.
Moroni 10
32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.
33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.
The cross reference for the word “perfect” in verse 32 goes to JST Rom. 6:7 “For he that is dead to sin is freed (GR acquitted, cleared)”
The word “justify” means “To be pardoned...declared guiltless.” So to become “perfect” is to become “justified”, pardoned or acquitted through the atonement of Jesus Christ. When this happens, we also are “just” men made “perfect”; the seed of Aaron, Abraham and God.

And should we beat ourselves up over NOT being perfect in this life?  Nope - that leads to neurotic people....  Excellent advice from a FB group peer:
