I was looking up history on the college that was destroyed in Mississippi by a recent twister, and came across this:

I could not figure out what all the noise was last Sunday and it turns out I was hearing a tornado siren. It ripped the hangar door off at an airport about 1000 yards from my home and delayed the release of people after the end of the Cowboys and Packers game - for safety purposes.
The weather in these parts is quite particular.....
When I survey the damage done by these things, largely in areas that I consider anti-Mormon, I have to wonder if it is just chance or is it divine retribution for having ignored the word of God's servants. Or even having persecuted them heavily.
A few summers ago, as we were at the major Church History sites, it was no koinkydink that all the haters at the pageants were Baptists "missionaries" from the South..... When will they get it?? I am not sure.
I find the charge that we are not "Christian" the most laughable. While in the temple yesterday, I always pull open the scriptures (usually the triple) and seek inspiration. Invariably, I am staring at a discourse on the centrality of Christ in the Plan of Salvation. Of course, the endowment is 100% about why we even need, or have a Savior. So I just laugh at them - and sometimes feel pity for them. And then, I have to wonder who are the brainwashed ones...... the accused? Or the accusers....
For quite some time, after I let the cat out of the bag down here that I am LDS, my fellow engineers would barely give eye contact. Now, things have normalized - but sheesh, you woulda thought I had told them that I enjoy eating poop with pistachios on top. Seriously!
They are good people - but their leaders who rely on money according to what they preach - have made them twice the children of hell that they are (in other words, they will never give ear to the truth, because of the falsehoods that have been spread). Just as in NT times......
As a Mormon living in Mississippi I deal with it all the time. I'll make a new friend and once they find out I'm a Mormon they can't get away fast enough. ;) Love this blog, thanks Iraq.
