PARTAKING OF HER SINS BY FORCE OF CIRCUMSTANCE

I promised myself when I landed back in my simple hometown after my mission to Brazil, that I would give my life if I had to, to keep our country from becoming as corrupt as that nation was.

I love Brazil, but corruption is engrained in every aspect of the culture; almost from bottom to top.  Most have become part of that corruption by force of circumstance - just being alive and having to navigate what is in front of them from day to day.  There was one man who stridently resisted the corruption from day to day - and he had a contingency of well-trained body guards that protected he and his children.  He was a prisoner in his own country because he resisted evil.  His children had a constant detail on them 24/7.  Control the kids, manipulate the parents.  His name was Moroni, and I still class him among my top heroes of all time.  A living hero.  One who stood up to the powers that be, and stuck it to them.  My kind of man - a real man; not some cowering wimp.

And now, here we are.....  Probably not QUITE as bad - but when you are in a virtual free-fall, it does not take long to make it to the bottom of the miry cess-pool.

This article says it WAY better than I could ever say it.  They feel exactly the same way I do, except I did not see any references to skinning them alive and then feeding the screaming remains to the dogs to be torn asunder.  THAT is my kind of end to most of these sickos.....:

These people who celebrate porn and abortion and make heroic figures out of small-souled, sex-deluded creatures such as Bill Maher and Lena Dunham and Sandra Fluke and lionize sick predator men like the Kennedys and Bill Clinton are not merely being hypocrites or playing politics when they denounce Trump. They are deliberately engaging in The Lie: the corruption of meaning itself. They aren’t outraged because they’re decent. They’re using our decency as a pawn in their quest for political power.
I don’t even have an expletive strong enough to express my contempt for what we’re witnessing this news cycle. All I know is I deeply resent being put in a position where denouncing the grossness of Trump’s remarks becomes playing into a larger Lie and everyone’s rightful disgust becomes a mere political tool.
This is the problem of the corruption of culture, as Harriet Beecher Stowe illustrated brilliantly in Uncle Tom’s Cabin. There, the good guys who defend human dignity are forced by the culture itself to become outlaws—to lie to hide runaway slaves, or break the law to participate in the Underground Railroad. They are forced to defend what they ordinarily would find indefensible in order to defend the greater goods of human liberty, human dignity, and equality before the law. In a corrupt culture, no matter what you do, no one escapes with his purity intact.

  1. When the question is asked 'Are you honest in your dealings with your fellow man" is the literal as important as the moral issue? If a law was passed that stated that I must report all Baptists I know so they could be scheduled for re-education would it be moral to report them, or is it more moral to obfuscate and preserve life or sanity? AKA "Do these pants make me look fat?"

    1. Brother it's easy. God's law is THE law and trumps all man made law.

Perfect happiness is not to be found in knowing the secrets of nature, raising the dead, predicting the future, or even knowing the language of angels.

Perfect happiness is to be found only in suffering all things out of love for and in service to Jesus Christ. If that makes us latter day outlaws in man's eyes, so be it.

Now, let's all sing "Choose the Right" and have a slice of pumpkin pie with whipped cream!

      God bless you Brother Thomas!
