DO WE SUFFER FROM NORMALCY BIAS?

I know several people whose grand-parents split the nazi situation before it was too late (around 1939) to get out of there.  Their friends and family (who were also Jewish) perished or were massively impacted.  They avoided the wide-spread normalcy bias that had lulled their friends to sleep.  I believe many were directed by God - and were a good example of survival of the spiritual fittest.

Does the "AMERICAN PSYCHE" suffer from Normalcy Bias? (This could be a helpful, and eye opening post, if read.)
"Trying to warn people to be prepared because of a probable crisis can bring one grief and frustration because of the human condition called "normalcy bias". Just as people in Pompeii watched for hours as the volcano erupted without evacuation, many people do not react until it is too late. Although you may try to warn others, the reality is some people will never take preventative action even when they are staring crisis in the face.
The Normalcy Bias condition is well known to psychologists and sociologists. It refers to a mental state of denial in which individuals enter, when facing a disaster or pending danger. It leads people to underestimate and minimize both the possibility of a catastrophe actually happening, as well as its possible consequences to their health and safety.
The Normalcy Bias often results in situations where people fail to prepare for a likely and impending disaster. It leads people to believe that since something has not happened before, that it never will happen. Therefore, we cling to our habitual, repetitive, and normal way of life, despite overwhelming proof that serious danger lies ahead.
The Normalcy Bias is part of human nature and, to some extent, we are all guilty of participating in it. Unfortunately, it inhibits our ability to cope with a disaster once it is underway. People with Normalcy Bias have difficulty reacting to something they have not experienced before. It also leads people to interpret warnings and to inaccurately reframe information, in order to project an optimistic outcome, which leads to the person to infer a less serious situation. In short, it is kind of a pain-killing drug which numbs a person to an impending danger.
Do you suffer from Normalcy Bias. If you are being honest with yourself, and do not see a threat in the existing power structure, then you do indeed suffer from Normalcy Bias.
The Nazi Holocaust provides the best example of Normalcy Bias in a way that is most applicable to what is beginning to happen in America.
It explains why so many Jews ignored and underestimated the omnipresent signs of danger even after they were forced to wear identifying yellow stars, possess a J stamp Identification card, and discriminatory laws were passed which targeted the Jews and their businesses, of which many were destroyed in "The Night of the Broken Glass".
Many of the Jews could have afforded to move out of the country, but stayed, and were subsequently exterminated. It could be accurately stated that they ultimately perished because of their Normalcy Bias.
Bill Ayers, the leader of the 1960′s Weatherman Underground terrorist organization, the man who financed Obama’s Harvard education and launched his political career in his Southside Chicago home, told FBI informant, Larry Grathwohl, that his people would have to murder 25 million Americans which could not be re-educated after these had taken over the government. “Read Diaper Babies”
I hate to be the one to bring cognitive dissonance to your Normalcy Bias party, but the communist thugs of Ayers, his convicted criminal spouse, Bernardine Dohrn, Senior White House Advisor,Valerie Jarrett, Frank Davis and his real son, Obama, have taken over this government and they have the means, the motive, the opportunity and the desire to commit genocide against you and other freedom-loving American.
For example, Valerie Jarrett, has stated that the Obama administration is going to enact revenge against their opponents in a “there is going to be hell to pay” threat. Have you ever criticized the President using any form of electronic media? Did you vote for Obama in both elections? Remember, they actually know if you have been naughty or nice!
The sad fact remains, that most of us will not even know what has hit us until it is too late. Will your fellow countrymen carry out the globalist genocidal plans and fire on you and your family when ordered to do so?
Knowledge is power. My hope is that you will use this information to empower yourself and your family for protection in emergencies. Decide today that you will not be a victim of normalcy bias. Sit and make a plan for a few scenarios that you think could take place. Familiarize yourself and your family with escape routes at home, at work, and at school. Decide on places where you can meet, should something occur when you’re apart.
Prepare an emergency bag/bug-out bag. You may never have to use any of these skills, but should you have to, its better to be able to act without having to think. Better to be able to take the information you prepared and be ready to go, within the shortest amount of time possible, instead of walking in circles making phone calls. It could make all the difference."
Even better, prepare a 1 year food storage for your family with a 2 week water supply, (2 gallons per person per day)

I was gratified to know that two of my siblings are getting more and more in prepper mode - though they did not mention what their motivation was for going solar/inverter.  Maybe their "crazy" brother is rubbing off on them.  They are the two that I am closest to in age and thinking and who are most awake spiritually of the bunch.  Maybe the whole crew will come around over time?

As I was driving back from Lehi on three hours sleep (in the car), I almost fell asleep twice at the wheel.  Once was right next to a semi and it might not have turned out well.  I was trying to pick up the last few parts on the other side of Boise - and I got some bad directions, so I pulled over to get directions to Nampa even though I was short on time and felt like I needed to drive through without stopping for a much-needed nap.  In pulling over to stop, the car would not even go into park because of a transmission over-temp sensor light that had come on.  This after my blinkers quit working suddenly 50 miles back.  I could only go forward in limp mode once that light came on.  Well, I was parked at a gas station - so I pulled forward and into some shade under a tree and pondered on what to do.  I did not have my full diagnostics suite with me - and no factory manual to troubleshoot with.  My first impression what that there was a purpose to this glitch in the trip - that it was to force me to take a nap so I did not end up killing myself or someone else falling asleep at the wheel.  I knew all I needed was 10 mins and my brain fog would go away - but I did not want to fall asleep without first trying something so I did the computer flash by removing the negative battery cable and swiping it past the positive terminal so remove any possible capacitance in the system; then let it sit with the negative off for 30 seconds.  I hooked it all back up - and still the same light.  In moving to the tree, I was not thinking and I was forced to stay there because it was on an incline and I could not get the shifter to let me go into reverse or park - so I snoozed.  I woke up about 10 mins later feeling perky.  The danger with being that tired - is that I could sleep 2 or 3 hours with the nice breeze blowing through the windows - and I would have missed my Nampa pickup point.

So I woke up and began surveying the underhood on the machine - found the fuse box and started pulling anything that might be related to the tranny.  Nothing turned up as the smoking gun.  I was about to give up and get some people to push me backwards so I could run over to McD's and get some internet solutions going.  I had the impression to check for fuses related to the emergency flashers.  Sure enough - the 15A was burned out.  I replaced it with the spare and got in to check for the over-temp light.  It was off - and the shifter functioned normally.  Basically - Subaru must have included this functionality in the logic, so that if you lost your blinkers, you would also go into limp mode (when you slowed down or stopped the vehicle normally) so you would have to tow it to the dealer to get the blinkers sorted out if you could not do it yourself.

Well, I got on my way refreshed and grateful that it was nothing of import.  I have the suspicion that once again, I had an unseen angel forcing me to take the time to not kill myself over a ridiculous schedule.  I made it to Nampa with 10 mins to spare and was able to get it all done as I had planned when I left Lehi.  A reminder that sometimes we just need to trust in a higher power to order all things to our good.  I find that the more I try to force things according to my own will and dictates, the less it goes in my favor (I end up smashed into the semi's of life....).  When I turn it over to the Lord, somehow - it all seems to just fall into place when I exercise agency, faith and do my part after following the Spirit.

Maybe, by the time I die, I will finally fully get it..... and execute this thinking with exactness ALL of the time.  Spencer spoke of this refining process of following the Spirit at each juncture of life - with exactness and having peace and safety on his journey to Zion.

BTW - I cannot share, but have it on good authority that the Bretheren are indeed planning on a Church level for a VLEQ (very large earthquake).  I would pay attention to that.  If you have not blessed your homes against the destroyer, it would be a good time to call the HT's over or people that you know who are people of faith and power in their Priesthood, and do your due diligence in that regard.  It is free - and probably the best insurance you can have to not having to deal with tragedy in your homes.
