I stumbled on to the movie NEXT a few nights ago. Definitely a great action thriller with two objectionable words - and wHollyweird had to project a couple that sleeps together after two days together..... Can we NOT model ANY healthy couple that waits until they are married?? Sheesh!
In the movie, Nicolas Cage is able to see about two minutes into the future with a talent he has been given. No one believes him - but, through time, this girl he meets begins to believe in him. They have some connection - and he is able to project further into the future when she is around.
The only movie I like more - was Premonition; dealing with similar subject matter.
I wish I had spent the time to remember the dream I had last night. In it, there was a plane crash - many people evacuating and fire. I do not remember any other specifics than this. Then, when I got in, the news that another legendary 777 incident occurred on a runway in Dubai. The last one I dreamed about down the detail including model and sub-model and even which airline (I saw the graphics on the tail). That was in about 2003 or 4 before I had the job working the 777 in the factory.
The 777 incident at London Heathrow that involved heavy hull damage with no loss of life around 2012 was yet one more legendary 777 incident where things seemed to defy the odds, with no complete hull loss and no loss of life to that point. When I was in Customer Services in about 2005, we were shocked one day when we were told to scrub South African Airways from out fleet records. They had gotten rid of their Boeing products after all the execs were on a 777 demonstration flight when they had a dual engine out on takeoff. It literally means certain death - and most of the executives of that airline were on board. It would have decapitated that organization. I am not sure how close they were to death (it is nearly completely fatal - engine restarts in flight are difficult, let alone in the climbout), but they were miraculously able to get a single engine re-started and they used that one to land. It so frightened the execs that they stormed off the plane and turned all their Boeing products over to lessors. That was it for us. They went to our competition after that.
I can assure you there is plenty of pucker factor in that scenario. We simulated a dual engine out condition in a 757-300 we were testing off the coast of the Olympic Peninsula. One engine we completely shut down, the other down to idle where there is no appreciable thrust and I think we were checking for glide slope. I cannot remember the condition, it was not the test I was directing - I was along for the ride on another test. What I do remember, is that I was fully puckered and staring at the beach and calculating how close we could get to shore before we had to ditch in the water and swim for it. Not being much of a swimmer - that was traumatizing for me. Thankfully - we spooled the one engine back up once we were off condition and used engine bleed off the first one to do an in-flight engine restart on the other one. No better sound than the second one spooling back up and feeling the mild g-forces as we transitioned from "glider" back to jet. The only thing better than that sound, is the sound of your newborn wailing once they are out and safe. Serious hold-your-breath kind of moments.....
So.... we have had an amazing track record with that 777 - except for those three planes in that 13 month period. It happened for a reason - and all three crashes were really bizarre - with one still being completely a mystery as to what happened other than a few pieces of wreckage washing up on an African shore in the past 6 months. How does a jetliner full of people just disappear?? Has there been precedent for it? Nope - not that I am aware of in our modern age of satellites and tracking. It really was bizarre. On that scale - and on that very note - so will be what is coming. If you believe in omens - and most Jewish people did and do, it is an ominous sign. A premonition for our future.
As Nicolas Cage said at the end of the movie, once you look into the future - you have already changed it. One of those deals where you can have access to two of the three factors that make up our future: time, location and specific event; but NOT all three. There are only a few select people that have had this ability. John Koyle was one of them. Even when I have had dreams or premonitions of something, they were already in progress - or enough detail was left out, that I could only give a portion of what was coming. It is a fascinating thing to delve into. Agency is maintained 100% of the time. It cannot be violated - and even when it appears that it was, there was a pre-mortal agreement in place that we cannot necessarily remember. It is all about covenants and contracts - and obligations. Most of the endowment is contractual. All ordinances are contractual - and dependent upon our performance of those contracts and agreements. The scriptures are largely a massive legal document. God has covered all the bases. People flip out over what happened to the people in the land of Canaan - but it all comes down to contracts and covenants.
What happens to the USA when she is taken down - is all part of contract blessing and covenant - or the lack or broken-ness thereof. In a sense - the Author of All already knows what will happen. We just have to live up to/or not live up to our end of things. Human behavior is so predictable. Except for the snowflakes - the elect - who will prove themselves to abherrate outside the predictable.
To close, I want to say here that my wife was able to visit with Spencer today as part of her therapy. After just about falling off the cliff last winter, she decided to see him for counseling. After which, she began to re-read his book and enjoyed it. She read it with the youngest two daughters. My fourth child decided she really wanted to meet him. She said she did - and she said that she felt a warmth and happiness while she waited in the lobby for her mother to come out. I asked her to describe that warmth - and she said that she felt like she wanted to hug somebody. Happiness. THAT is the Spirit of the Lord. When you want to be with others, to lift them, do good to fellow man. Those are the fruits of the Spirit - and then we talked about the opposite; darkness, gloominess, feelings of despair, hopelessness, anger, bitterness, wanting to avoid others, selfishly only wanting to do things for yourself, an over focus on self. These impulses and feelings are from the adversary and those who have chosen to follow his creed.
We then had an interesting conversation about the ability to move throughout space and time. Forward and backward in time - as well as moving about space at the speed of thought. These abilities are reserved for those who have overcome all things of a telestial nature. Those who have proven to themselves (and God) that they will be faithful over a few things - and therefore, will be given the keys to much more.
WE choose our futures - WE are the stewards of future outcomes. The ability to do so lies in our own hands. That power is a gift from God. Who is the recipient of it, depends on the individual.
My first thought when you mentioned a Nicolas Cage movie and your numerous mentions of airplane crashes, I thought of the movie "Knowing". (I got the movie "Knowing" and "Next" mixed up.) In the movie "Knowing", there was one worthwhile scene of an airplane crash that is worth seeing. The rest of the movie was marginal.

I really like the show NEXT for must of the same reasons plus for the fact that this gift is real. My neighbor's son has this ability, and sees the exact event about 24 hours out, right down to the very words spoken by the people involved. He just left on this mission oversees. It will be interesting the stories he will tell while out there now.
