ANNIVERSARIES - A JOURNAL ENTRY FOR DALLIN

If my youngest boy were still alive, today we would be celebrating his 15th birthday tonight.

For what little time we got to spend with him, I know he would be quite the kid.  Large build like his older brother.  Wise like his mother.  Smart like his older sister and daddy.  And I can only guess playful and spiritually intuitive with his like-minded younger sisters.

We could sense the wisdom and majesty of his personality for even a 9 month old kid.  I told my wife when we brought him into the home that he was the best thing to cross our threshold.  In other words, he eclipsed us all in his spiritual abilities and potential.

I suspect, for this reason, he was taken home early for another mission.  He did not have to go thru the extensive tests that we all had to go thru to prove ourselves.  He still has to reach the measure of his full physical stature - so he will be resurrected as he was laid down, but will get to grow into his full physical stature.  Something I look forward to with relish - and so I plod along under relatively difficult circumstances (at times) and just simply endure for better times.  The prize after it is all over.  God really does dangle the carrot at times.

Sometimes He takes the best and lets the rest of us figure it out at our own lessened pace.

Happy first 15th birthday, Dallin!  Til we meet again and get to do the for real one in style.  Til then....
