THE CALLOUT RE-VISITED

From a commenter named Chris:

I appreciate Anonymous (Isaiah) quoting all the scriptures. However, we need to remember the many scriptural accounts of the Lord actually warning those who will listen and leading them out. In fact the very captivity that Isaiah warned Israel of is what happened AFTER Lehi was told to leave, had traveled through the wilderness, and reached the promised land.

And we know that Mosiah, who was "warned of the Lord that he should flee out of the land of Nephi" (Omni 1:12) discovered the people of Zarahemla, who had come out of Jerusalem and were led by the Lord.

There are plenty of scriptural accounts of "call outs," which definitely sets a doctrinal precedent for a potential future call to gather. Another one I recently read was Alma and his people, who were actually apprised of when to leave on two occasions (and were apparently given only sufficient time--overnight on one occasion--to gather their flocks and grain).

I have noticed a misunderstanding among some who believe in the call-out. Some think the call-out will happen and those who go will avoid all tribulation. That is simply not true. Tribulation and affliction are the most common methods used by the Lord to sanctify his people. The New Jerusalem can only be built by a sanctified people. We can choose to become sanctified on our own, or the Lord will purify us. It should also be noted that not all the saints will go to build the New Jerusalem when that time comes, but those who do will be those who are sanctified and can, and want, to live in a Zion society.

My understanding is if there is an invitation to gather (call-out) it will be before the worst of the plagues come, and likely before an invasion of foreign forces. It will also likely happen before the worst of the natural disasters.

The call-out will not be a get-out-of-tribulation-free card that we can play. There will be trials and tribulations before, during, and even after. Even without considering the possible remnant effects from plagues, natural disasters, and other events that might come to those in the places of refuge, living long term in a tent has challenges, especially considering how used to our creature comforts we have become. I get the impression some people think it will be easy. However, it would seem that those who do choose to gather will be spared the worst of the worst.

While there are many prophetic statements and scriptures that support the gathering of the faithful, the most compelling to me is the parable of the wheat and tares, where the wheat is gathered and the tares are left.

A really easy way to separate those who are willing to follow the prophet from the less faithful would be an invitation to gather. The righteous are always invited/warned to leave. The wicked are never forced to leave. Most likely there would be a number of the faithful who would be asked to remain behind, at least for a time. I am fairly certain the call-out would be an invitation to gather, not a commandment.

I doubt food storage or any measurement of Church activity would be used as judgment to allow or prevent anyone from gathering. The greatest test of righteousness is whether someone actually follows the counsels of the prophet.

How many members have actually followed the counsel to have a year's worth of food storage? My understanding is this is a low single-digit percentage.

How many members have much in the way of emergency preparedness, or short-term (90-day) food supplies?

How many members pay a full tithe?

How many actually observe the Sabbath as a holy day, instead of as a day of recreation, athletics, or work?

How many have learned (or are learning) to follow the whisperings of the Spirit, and earnestly try to pray from their hearts?

How many priesthood holders are actively trying to obtain priesthood power, and not just have priesthood authority? (See President Nelson's priesthood session talk, https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2016/04/the-price-of-priesthood-power?lang=eng)

How many members are out-of-debt, or actively working to reduce their debts as quickly as possible?

On the others side, how many members support, and even uphold, groups that are directly opposed to the Lord's doctrine, such as proponents of same-sex marriage?

How often do members say they follow the prophet, but then complain about something the prophet or an apostle said, or justify/rationalize to themselves why certain counsels don't apply to them?

How many members are pursuing the vain things of the world--money, popularity, fame, etc.--instead of the gifts of the Spirit?

How many actively seek those things which drive away the Spirit, such as most of the popular music, literature, movies, and many other forms of popular entertainment, which deaden the senses?

I don't know the numbers, but I suspect there are far more who support the same-sex and LGBT agenda than who have even three-months' worth of food storage, let alone a year's worth. It is unfortunate but to me it seems that each year more of the saints are embracing Babylon instead of bidding it farewell.

So, if a call-out happens it will result in a very physical separation of those willing to follow the prophet and those who think they know better. And, I suspect those who truly follow the prophet, who know how to get answers from God and be guided by the Spirit, are a very small percentage of the Church membership.

And, to further separate those who aren't truly following the prophet, there will likely be a time after the initial invitation to gather when nothing big will appear to happen. Those whose hearts are not in the right place will likely give up and go home.

If the invitation to gather happens, and nothing big were to happen (calamity-wise) immediately afterwards, that would certainly be a trial of faith for many. There would be those who, like Laman and Lemuel, will say something like, "Behold, these many [weeks/months] we have suffered in the wilderness, which time we might have enjoyed our possessions and the land of our inheritance; yea, and we might have been happy" (1 Nephi 17:21). These people will likely give up and go home.

And there will be those who chose not to heed the prophet's invitation because they justify to themselves that they will just go later "if things really do get bad."

I suspect one of the minor events that will happen soon after a potential call-out would be increasing travel restrictions, possibly due to disease outbreaks. Economics may play a role as well, or maybe the unavailability or restriction of fuel. There are a number of normal appearing events that could happen which could effectively prevent or delay people from gathering later.

A really big earthquake could make vehicular travel nearly impossible, but an earthquake on its own wouldn't make people want to flee into the mountains. However, if peace keeping forces came in to restore order, and it turned out to be the wrong kind of order, people may be wishing to leave.

I also suspect those who choose later to flee will do so only with minimal equipment, many with only what they can carry or only the clothes they are wearing.

My personal thoughts are if a call-out happens, it won't be for a while. Too many people are relying on interpretations of the various visions and dreams others have had, instead of seeking guidance from the Spirit. In 3 years, how many people will have given up, lost faith in those visions, and stopped being prepared? How about 7 years from now? The Lord wants his people to trust in him. The visions of others are good, but only if they can help us get closer to the Lord.

The majority of those who have shared some of their dreams and visions do so without setting any dates, and their main message is we need to follow the prophets, including the oft-repeated counsel to get prepared. Those who do follow the prophets will continually work on their spiritual and physical preparedness, and, if a call-out happens, they will be ready to leave if the Spirit tells them to do so.

[to be continued]

If a call-out happens, those few who heed the invitation will likely be spared the bondage which will likely come. When the threat of bondage comes many will attempt to escape. Many others will have to live through the bondage in order to be purified and become willing to live in a Zion society.

How long will that bondage last? It may be for the 3.5 years. From what I've studied regarding the great gathering and places of refuge, it could be a few years before the people return to rebuild. I suspect the reality will more likely be that while most of the country will be in bondage for a few years, there will be areas that either will not be in bondage or will only have a short time of bondage.

You should note I have used the word "if" in regards to the call-out. I personally believe it is more likely to happen than not. If it does, it could happen within the next year, 7 years from now, or even later. However, if the majority of the people were to repent and return to God the calamities which are coming, including the bondage, will be delayed until the people return to wickedness.

Something I had never considered before is the idea of packing up my food storage and supplies and leaving. I've been slowly trying to get things in better order so I could quickly pack things and leave if needed. If a call-out does happen, it will likely be only a short window to pack and go.

We are trying to prepare ourselves and our family for emergencies, but also for the possibility of leaving quickly, either with minimal emergency items or with more extensive supplies. However, we are living and making normal life decisions based on the fact that we don't know when anything will happen, and we should plan on living where we are for years. D&C 51 has good counsel in verses 16 and 17:

"And I consecrate unto them this land for a little season, until I, the Lord, shall provide for them otherwise, and command them to go hence;

"And the hour and the day is not given unto them, wherefore let them act upon this land as for years, and this shall turn unto them for their good."

While that counsel was for the saints gathering in Ohio, it is applicable to us wherever we may be. We need to trust that as long as we are trying to be guided by the Spirit, we are living where the Lord would have us. And, until the Lord guides us to do otherwise we need to "act…as for years." I interpret this as meaning we need to live by the Spirit, where we work and live and plan "as for years," and not give up employment, drop out of school, change long-term plans, run off into the mountains to hide from society falling apart, etc.

If we are following the counsels of the prophets, and living by the guidance of the Spirit, we will be physically and spiritually prepared and ready whether we remain in our homes or the Lord tells us to "go hence."

Remember, while the scripture does say, "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets," it does not say that the prophets will reveal God's secrets to us. They may reveal some, but only what they are told to.

It is rare that a prophet will warn of a disaster to happen on a certain day. Of all the natural disasters and wars of the last century I'm not aware of any public warning from any of our prophets regarding a specific event to happen at a certain time. Often the warnings are more general; the real message is to repent and return to God.

    - Study the prophet they have commanded us to get food storage. President Monson in 2014 Ensign Sept or Oct restated we needed to be prepared, have food storage and other things to help others. I have lots of quotes from prophets, apostles and such 1800's and on that said food storage and a "gathering" would take place right at the start of the tribulations. DO YOUR RESEARCH!

How many members have actually followed the counsel to have a year's worth of food storage? My understanding is this is a low single-digit percentage.
Answer: It's about 4-8% of any ward that has a full 1 year food storage. In the 90's UofU did a study and found that 18% of members had a years worth of grain (wheat, oats, rice) but lacked in all other essentials. It might be slightly higher as people are prompted to beef up food storage but in our ward it is still definitely under 10% so maybe 20 people or so.

How many members have much in the way of emergency preparedness, or short-term (90-day) food supplies?
Answer: the 90 day supply is actually pretty healthy in our ward however, most people only have about 2-3 weeks of full living/food in the house at any one time. I would say maybe 30% of our ward has the full 90 day/live comfortably.

Emergency Preparedness for our ward - thankfully our Bishop and Stake President has a 1 year food storage per person in their own family.... but most ward members have the grain only and some have even been throwing it away... yep, throwing it away...

PSSS - someone not in our ward told us the following: Something catastrophic will happen in June. Food storage and a temple recommend will be a requirement when the church does invite us to gather to prepared locations.

You must be able to take care of yourself for at least a year, while still offering tithes each month. Only the very faithful will meet these requirements.

Yes, follow the prophets. 3 prophets have called 1 year long term food, water, fuel and clothing storage a commandment? Can you name them? How versed are you on our Prophet's counsel.

In the beginning Brigham Young said that every member needed 7 years worth of grain.

Avraham Gileadi mentions a 3 - 3.5 year "camping scenario" or when God leads his people out we will be surviving for about 3.5 years in these places.

    ARE YOU READY????

    1. I appreciate the numbers. The year's worth of food storage is about what I was expecting. Your ward is definitely doing well if 30% have a 90 day supply in their home. I was expecting closer to 20%.

I do have some research, and would love to get more, particularly those regarding the gathering before the time of tribulation. I have only recently become introduced to Avraham Gileadi's work, so I haven't encountered the camping scenario.

My intent was not a research paper. If it was, it would've been longer with more citations so people could actually reference sources. The above was a comment in response to another comment. I actually find it a little irresponsible when someone claims something as fact, but then doesn't provide any source(s) for it.

Here is some explanation as to my "doubt" about food storage being a requirement. I doubt many people who have not obeyed counsel to have a year's worth of food storage would actually heed any invitation to gather. Thus, it is those who really follow the prophet who will choose to gather.

However not all faithful members can get a full year's worth of food storage. A big reason I do not think actually having a year's worth of food storage would be a requirement to gather is that would rule out recent converts, students, recently married, and others who have not had the time to store up food, but who may otherwise be as faithful as those who do have food storage. Do you really think the Church leaders will tell them they cannot come, just because they don't have a year's worth of food storage?

As for being ready, I will admit to having the food storage for my family, as well as many supplies, but we still have plenty of work to do. While I've been aware for many years of the dreams and visions people have had, it's really been less than a year that I've begun to "wake up" and get serious in my studies and preparations. Most of what we have stored up and obtained has been since last summer.

    2. This comment won't likely be read by many, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

"DO YOUR RESEARCH" does little to actual provide evidence of actual research. The best offered is a reference President Monson in Sept or October 2014 Ensign.

June is nearly over. Not much time for the "catastrophic" event. Or maybe that was one of the mass shootings? Or record flooding in parts of the world? I guess the comment doesn't actually specify where the catastrophic event will occur.

  2. I find this statement totally contradictory: "I doubt food storage or any measurement of Church activity would be used as judgment to allow or prevent anyone from gathering. The greatest test of righteousness is whether someone actually follows the counsels of the prophet." Exactly. So wouldn't the greatest test be that an indiviual had indeed followed the prophets' counsel up to that point of having food storage, holding a current temple recommend, etc? Why justify away true prophetic counsel just because you "doubt" that could be a requirement? Wouldn't you want to be as obedient as possible? Regardless if the majority of the church is doing the same?

    1. It does appear contradictory. Those who don't follow the prophet are unlikely to have food storage. And, on the other side, those who really follow the prophet are more likely to have their food storage.

But, what about recent converts, newly married, students, or others who either do not have the resources to obtain and store, or have not had the time to do so. Do you really think the Church leaders will not allow faithful members to gather just because they have not had the time to gather a full year's worth of food storage?

Likewise, new converts might not have a temple recommend. If they would like to gather with the saints, are they to be denied the opportunity?

There are a lot of members who on paper look like they are faithful, with many of those actually having temple recommends. Having your food storage isn't a current question in the temple recommend interview, but asking if the person supports and sustains the prophet is. A question to consider is can someone really support and sustain the prophet if they don't follow the prophet's counsel?

I was not trying to justify away prophetic counsel. I think those who have followed the counsels of the prophets will make up the vast majority of those who do gather. And, I also think there will be some who have followed the counsel to get food storage but who choose to not gather, and there will be some who initially gather but then choose to leave.

    2. Temple recommend is required because of the sacredness of the message, food storage is required to help ease the transition to becoming fully reliant upon the Lord.

Are there exceptions to the rules... YES.

Youth, newly married, new converts maybe invited by ministering angels, bishops, stake president etc.

Unfortunately only a few will leave as in Noah's time.

      Delete
    3. So the sacredness of the message has exceptions to the rules???

Last I was aware of receiving a temple recommend doesn't have any exceptions. Yet, supposedly there will be a number of requirements for people to be accepted to respond to the call-out, but there will be exceptions.

Seems to be the best requirement is for the prophet to invite people to gather, let them ask God for confirmation from the Spirit, and then see who actually follows the counsel. Most likely the ones who will are the ones who have stored up food and supplies, having their homes in order, being prepared, and ready to heed God's warnings.

Yeah, food storage will "ease the transition." But I've never read anywhere that it will be a "requirement", and if it was, there probably shouldn't be an exception "because of the sacredness of the message."

  3. I am getting kind of fed up with the back and forth on who will and won't be allowed to gather. Everyone thinks they know what the rules are going to be because of someones dream or vision. So now people are adding temple recommends to the list?! What about being debt free then? because that's heeding the prophets counsel as well right? Cant go driving off into the mountains with cars you dont really own or student loans and mortgages that aren't paid off! If you're going to make one counsel a requirement better add the rest to list!
My point is stop speculating and pray for your OWN confirman. What is the Lord telling you to do? I have learned a lot by focusing on that instead if what everyone else out there is saying. I appreciate Chris's post because he was not stating his opinion as fact but as his own feelings. That's all any of us have authority to do.

  4. I appreciate Cris' comments directed to me, quoting what I said;
    like, "quoting all the scriptures",
However, our scriptures are the most important thing we have
and SHOULD NOT be taken lightly.

A well known LDS writer once wrote a foreword in a book -
"The last days: Types and shadows from the Bible and Book of Mormon"
    and said -
"This book might well be entitled
"What you always wanted to know about the Gospel
but were too lazy to find out."
"All answers are in the scriptures, but Latter-day Saints
    do not read the scriptures."
    Hugh Nibley

    READ OUR SCRIPTURES !
All the answers are contained in them.

Having already stated in my previous comments that
    "There WILL be a "call-out" ";
In Cris' comments he still wants to show just reason for one
and tries to imply that I somehow don't believe in one.

So with out going into great detail and
not wishing to debate or argue and because I don't type
I will simply make the following points. AGAIN.

    First let me clearify "call-out"
If call-out means we will be called out by the prophet,
Then I definitely DO NOT believe in a "call-out", for the reasons
I have already stated in my previous comments, (please look at them).

To quote Cris from his first and second paragraphs :
    1. "we need to remember the many scriptural accounts of the Lord actually warning those who will listen and leading them out"
    2. "Mosiah, who was "warned of the Lord"

    THE LORD
This says everything - it is THE LORD who leads people out -
    not the prophet !
THE LORD speaking to you - through his holy spirit.

The church and it's members are under so much condemnation that
maybe ?, if the THE LORD has time, he will lead out a few (very few)
faithful members that know his voice; and not leave them with
the destruction and bondage that is coming upon the church (saints)
and ALL the Gentiles of this "choice land", fallen land of America.

Do you really think that the prophet, or even your bishop knows
who is righteous and who is not ? NO !
So how can the prophet call members out.
THE LORD is the ONLY one who knows your heart, and who is
    righteous and who is not.

Feast upon the words of Christ.
Jesus Christ is the ONLY one we need to look to.

We need to put our faith in Christ - and not in the church and it's leaders.
It's CHRIST'S church - not the prophet's; and we need to look to him
and have his spirit with us to guide and direct us.
He's the one that died for us and the ONLY one that can save us.

You can't live or be saved on borrowed light.
If you follow the prophet or the GA's of the church
expecting to be saved, you will be lost.
You can not follow someone into heaven.

    The prophet can't save you.
Going to church won't save you.
Have you forgotten who's church this is !
JESUS CHRIST is the ONLY ONE that can save YOU !
seek to know him ! the one that died for YOU !

    1. Anonymous. To say that a prophet can't save you is misleading. To say that a prophet can't call a call out is also misleading. If you know your scriptures, you will see that this is true.

Following the counsels of the prophet and his direction, very much can save you. Can he forgive you of your sins? No. Can he save you from certain destruction? Of course he can. Those that listen and heed the counsels of the prophet are all saved from spiritual destruction at one point or another.

Let's take a look at some prophets that actually saved people.

      1. Enoch. it took 350 years to do it, but those that followed his counsels and lived the law of consecration were saved from destruction.

      2. Noah. Very few listened to him. Look what happened to those who didn't. Were they saved from the flood? No. Had they heeded his counsel, not only would they have been saved from physical destruction, but they possibly could have saved their souls as well.

      3. Moses. He saved a lot of people from certain destruction. Not only did he call his people out of Egypt (the biggest call out ever), but he also saved the first born from losing their lives if they followed his counsel about the spreading the lamb's blood on the threshold.

      4. Lehi. Took his family out of Jerusalem. Went back and gathered Ishmael's family. Ishmael didn't leave Jerusalem because the Lord called him out. He left because he was asked by a PROPHET to go.

      5. Alma. Those that followed and listened to Alma, were able to escape the clutches of wicked King Noah. When their lives were in danger, they fled. Call out. Following the prophet to safety. When they were in bondage, the Lord caused a deep sleep to come upon the Lamanites and Alma and his people departed into the wilderness. Call out. Following the prophet to safety.

      6. Nephi. When his brothers, Laman and Lemuel and their people were to the point of anger against Nephi and his people that they wanted to kill them, Nephi gathered his people and departed into the wilderness. Call out. Following the prophet.

      7. Brother of Jared. Gathered his family and friends out of Babel to the promised land. Call out.

      8. Prophet Joseph told the people of Haun's Mill to leave. They didn't listen. Massacre ensued. They didn't listen to a prophet's call to safety.

      9. Pioneers. Prophet's call out to safety. Those that went immediately were spared many hardships. Those that dragged their feet and left later suffered many hardships.

By putting your faith in the prophets and their admonition is putting your faith in Christ, for He will not allow a prophet to deceive you or lead you astray. There has never been a time in history when following the counsels of the prophet has been wrong. Every time the prophet admonished us to do or not do something, I have ALWAYS felt the confirmation of the spirit.

It is also dangerous thing to say that the prophet doesn't know who the righteous are. If that were the case, then the prophet wouldn't be able to call those worthy to have their calling and election.

It is true that you cannot live on borrowed light. This is NOT the same as trusting and having faith in the prophet or any church leader. The bishop IS a judge in Israel. He can know the intent of your heart. He can discern righteousness, if he is living the way he should. The bishop has a huge responsibility and accountability. If he leads you astray, then he will answer for that, not you. Does that mean you BLINDLY follow him? No. Can you counsel with him about your feelings? Absolutely.

    2. "If the Lord has time..." Really? You don't think the Lord is going to take the time to do whatever he can to help his saints? Isn't he in control of time???? Why would he NEED time? There is no "TIME" in the Lord's realm of things. He can make time for whatever he wants. On the other hand, if the Lord has given you plenty of time, and you are slothful with that "time", he won't wait for you to be ready.

"It is the Lord who leads people out, not the prophet"....And the Lord can't speak his will to his prophet? With the technology we have today, how easy would it be to "get the word out"?

"Going to church won't save you"... Wrong. Going to church can save a spiritually sick and weak person as much as going to the hospital can save a physically sick and weak person. Hence the commandment to attend your meetings, "That we all might be edified together". If church attendance wasn't important to the salvation of souls, there wouldn't be any meeting to attend.

    3. Your salvation depends on your relationship with Jesus Christ,
      not the prophet.
To say that you are saved because you follow the prophet and in turn
he follows Christ is NOT AT ALL the same thing.
Many things that you have said would be true if "all is well in Zion"
but it's not; and if "we" (the church and it's members) were NOT under condemnation and in apostasy.

      2 Nephi 28:21,24,25
21 And others will he pacify,
and lull them away into carnal security,
      that they will say: All is well in Zion;
yea, Zion prospereth, all is well—
and thus the devil cheateth their souls,
and leadeth them away carefully down to hell.
24 Therefore, wo be unto him that is at ease in Zion!
25 Wo be unto him that crieth: All is well!
It's not a dangerous thing at all to say that the prophet doesn't know who the righteous are and who are not righteous.
Only Christ can see what's in your heart.
The church is only capable of looking on the outward appearance,
it can not and does not look on the heart.
The ONLY things that the church has to judge you by is:
      attendance records
      callings
      home/visiting teaching
      temple recommend holder
      tithing settlement records
      debt free
      food storage

These things really don't prove you are righteous at all.
ANYBODY can do these things and still be a very bad person.
      And I'm sure there are many in the church that do these things;
they appear to be good but their "hearts are far from me"
      Isaiah 29
13 "Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is "taught by the precept of men"

      Delete
    4. Also if as you say " he will not allow a prophet to deceive you or lead you astray"
then how do you account for the scriptures that come just before the one above ?

      Isaiah 29:9,10,13,
9 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.

10 For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.

13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
      ----------------------------------------
Isaiah 9:2 the people "walking in darkness"
(without revelation) refers to the church today.
"Land of the shadow of death" is the U.S.
after the invasion by the beast.

9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light:
they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death,
upon them hath the light shined.
      --------------------------------------------------------------
Did you realize that in the 29th chapter of Isaiah he describes the coming forth
of the original plates of the Book of Mormon and the attitude
      of the people against it.
Now if the 29th Chapter of Isaiah refers to our people and nation,
then it is very feasible that the 28th chapter may also refer to us.
If you want a big wake up call please read it !
If you study this 28th chapter of Isaiah
it will reveal that every word applies to our church in these days
      and to no other people.
      Isaiah cites that this people would be given "precept upon precept;
precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little and there a little."
These identical words, were used by the Prophet Joseph Smith among his closing instructions to the latter day saints, warning us to go forward not backward. D.C.128:21-22 ; 2Nephi 28:30

Isaiah 28:13 "But the word of the Lord was unto them
      precept upon precept, precept upon precept;
      line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little;
that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken,
      and snared, and taken."

We are still satisfied with the ABC portions of the gospel.
We will not accept the meat portions of the gospel.

      Isaiah 28:
9 Whom shall he give instruction?
Whom shall he enlighten with revelation?
Weanlings weaned from milk, those just taken from the breast?
10 For it is but line upon line, line upon line, precept upon precept,
precept upon precept;a trifle here, a trifle there.

Isaiah28:1 "Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower,
which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!"

Salt Lake City is a "fat valley" if I've ever seen one.

    5. Question - If the holy church spoken of in Mormon 8:38
is not our church, then what church is it ?
      Mormon 8:35
"Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not.
But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing."

      Mormon 8:38
38 O ye pollutions, ye hypocrites, ye teachers, who sell yourselves for that which will canker, why have ye polluted the holy church of God? Why are ye ashamed to take upon you the name of Christ? Why do ye not think that greater is the value of an endless happiness than that misery which never dies—because of the praise of the world?

Please read ALL of Mormon Chapter 8
      -------------------------------------------------
      Mormon 8:35
"Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not.
But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing."

Mormon is speaking to us today.

I think we need to look at verses 23 and 26
23 "even from the dust will they cry"
26 "for out of the earth shall they come"
"and it shall come even as if one should speak from the dead."
These verses sound like to me they are referring to
none other than the book these are in,
and the person who is speaking to us
who's it (the book) is named after,
the coming forth of the "The Book of Mormon".
And even if they are not; ALL the scriptures after that,
verses 27 to the end are talking about the last days. our days NOW.
I believe these verses are talking about everyone in this "choice land"
of America and especially for the church and it's members.
Interesting why the word "teachers" is used in the same verse
just before he says "who sell yourselves for that which will canker,
why have ye polluted the holy church of God? "
What other holy church of God is in the world today ?
I believe the only holy church of God this could be is none other than
      our church today.
      -------------------------------------------------
Someone made this comment some time ago.

Mormons today dwindle in unbelief. There is a pervasive belief among us that we are God's chosen people and therefore unavoidably in the right way. So when we read the BOM giving desperate warnings about the churches in the last days, we automatically assume those warnings apply to all churches but our own.
We tend to apply the most important lessons of the book to everyone else but ourselves. Its a great example of standing on the rameumptom. Read Alma Chapter 31. Its a story of who?... That's right... The Mormons.

You would think that it would be odd to the Mormons that so much effort was wasted warning those who will never read the book.

It is very sobering to wake up and find the sad condition we are in.
      -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are scripture after scripture warning us not to make the
same mistakes as they did, when they forfeited their blessings and
their book (BofM) and the restored gospel then came to us, the Gentiles
which we are now losing it as they did and it's returning back to them.
I could show scripture after scripture and write page after page of
our apostasy, but that's another topic.

    6. Also as far as going to church -
Anyone can go to church !
YOU ARE NOT SAVED JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE A MEMBER
      AND YOU GO TO CHURCH.
Those who think they are righteous and are saved just by
attending their church meetings and even the temple,
church callings, etc. and think they've done their spiritual duty
for the week, will be cast out and burned with the tares.

And those who humble themselves daily, with a
Broken Heart and Contrite Spirit, on their knees repenting of their sins,
continually seeking the Lords face in prayer, asking the
Lord for his spirit to be with them always, to guide there lives,
to enlighten their minds and teach them all things of his gospel,
Taking upon you the name of Christ.
Servants of Christ - doing the things He (Christ) did,
      loving, teaching, and helping others.
This is the gospel of Jesus Christ, not just attending church.
Spiritually is not an outwardly thing you do once a week
      by going to church.

      Anyone can go to church

It's one thing to say "I Love You"
but it's entirely another to demonstrate that
      love, showing continually, unconditionally,
in many ways your unwavering love for that person.

It's one thing going to church, but it's entirely another
thing to accept and to live The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Is going to church in itself spirituality ? no.
The very act of going to church won't save anyone.
      Anyone can go to church.
I guarantee you that church attendance records
      are not kept in heaven.
Just like I believe that just because you get married in the temple
doesn't mean you will be together forever, if you have a terrible
relation ship with your spouse that has flustered and died away,
but because they got married in the temple, do you really
think they would be together or should be together ? I don't.

Too many members go to church like they go to the gym.
They go, they've done their (spiritual) duty
for the week and feel good about it.
Going to church doesn't make you closer to God. (unless)
it changes your life ! And it shows in your life by your fruits.
Again - going to church is like going to college.
You can go for years, and learn a lot but that won't get you
anywhere with your career unless you take what you've learned
and go out and apply it, in our lives and in the lives of others.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is like - a man was given an
expensive car to go on an extravagant vacation to a beautiful place,
but he didn't want to work, to get money for gas so he could go there.
Are you working to put gas in your car ? Not just by gong to church,
but doing what He (Christ) did.
"Therefore, what manner of men ought ye to be?
Verily I say unto you, even as I am."
      3 Nephi 27:27

"so faith without works is dead"
"I will shew thee my faith by my works"

we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ,
and we write according to our prophecies,
that our children may know to what source
they may look for a remission of their sins."

    2 Nephi 31:20
    "Wherefore, ye must press forward
    with a steadfastness in Christ,
having a perfect brightness of hope,
and a love of God and of all men.
Wherefore, if ye shall press forward,
feasting upon the word of Christ,
and endure to the end, behold,
    thus saith the Father:
    Ye shall have eternal life."

A prophet is coming - the marred servant

Can Prophets Come from Outside Church Leadership?
    http://www.connorboyack.com/blog/can-prophets-come-from-outside-the-church
(some quotes from this article below)

"When discussing prophets, we Latter-day Saints are quick to cite Amos 3:7, wherein we read, “Surely the Lord God will do nothing,
but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”
But who was Amos, and what kind of prophet was he? He himself explains, to the king of Judah at the time: “I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycamore fruit. And the Lord took me as I followed the flock, and the Lord said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.” His message was likewise an excoriating, divine rebuke against church culture, criticizing tradition and ritual and calling for judgment and righteousness instead."

*** Remember - "Jesus Christ who himself was sent of God, outside of church hierarchy, from humble and unlikely circumstances, to call people to repentance. The existing establishment of religious authority, most notably the Pharisees, claimed to be the conduit to God. Thus, when the Conduit himself appeared before them, rebuking them with simplicity and boldness, they, following the pattern, desired to exile him."

"But how would we fare if a prophet came to us today outside of the hierarchy of the Church? Would we learn from the mistakes of the past so as not to repeat them? Or would we side with the structure to which we have accustomed ourselves, thus removing the need for tackling hard questions such as determining if a person claiming a divine mandate, and chastising us for our wickedness, is in fact a prophet?"

"It’s instructive to note that these prophets are sent to God’s people because of general wickedness, and not necessarily corruption within church leadership. While in many cases the religious establishment had become rotten, this was not the experience of Samuel the Lamanite, whose mission came despite Nephi, and presumably others, righteously trying to do the very thing that Samuel was sent to do."

"It’s irrelevant, then, whether leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are doing exactly what God wants them to or not. God can send—and perhaps has sent?—prophets outside of this organization. He would do so because of a general deviation from the path he wants us to follow. It has happened previously, so why not today? Are we so confident of our supposed righteousness, despite God himself noting that we are condemned, and our minds darkened?"

    1. The ONLY time there have been multiple prophets who have been a mouthpiece of the Lord is when there was no other way of communication than by word of mouth, or hand writing letters, such as in the days of old. Jeremiah, Isaiah, Daniel, Lehi, were all overlapping prophets. It was necessary at the time, of that was their only way of communication. When Christ came, there was no prophet. There was no spiritual leader. The Sanhedrin was more political than spiritual, and they were corrupt. Christ came to fulfill the law of Moses and introduce a higher law. He was NOT outside of the organization. He was a Jew and a Rabbi by Jewish law. And if the Jews knew their scriptures, they would have recognized Him as the foretold prophet that would come and be their savior. As it was, they did not know their scriptures, nor did they even recognize the Son of God who came to fulfill all righteousness.

Why would you think that God would send someone outside the hierarchy of the church?

      D&C 43: 2-6 says:

      2. For behold, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that ye have received a commandment for a law unto my church, through him (the prophet) whom I have appointed unto you to receive commandments and revelations from my hand.
      3. And this ye shall know assuredly - that there is none other appointed unto you to receive commandments and revelations until he be taken (death), if he abide in me.
      4. But verily, verily, I say unto you, that none else shall be appointed unto this gift except it be through him; for if it be taken from him he shall not have power except to appoint another in his stead.
      5. And this shall be a law unto you , that ye receive not the teachings of any that shall come before you as revelations or commandments;
      6. And this I give unto you that you may not be deceived, that you may know they are not from me.

President Wilford Woodruff declared that we can have full confidence in the direction the prophet is leading the Church: “The Lord will never permit me or any other man who stands as President of this Church to lead you astray. It is not in the programme. It is not in the mind of God. If I were to attempt that, the Lord would remove me out of my place, and so He will any other man who attempts to lead the children of men astray from the oracles of God and from their duty”.

There is no need for other prophets, outside of his organization. The church covers the whole earth. Technology makes it easy to get the word of the prophet and apostles out to the people.

There are many people who receive personal revelation and inspiration from the Lord. But it ends there. I believe that there are good pastors out there that receive inspiration for their flock of followers, however, their words should never take precedence over what our prophet says.

    2. "Why would you think that God would send someone outside the hierarchy of the church?"

      For the reasons mentioned above,principally
"It’s irrelevant, then, whether leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are doing exactly what God wants them to or not. God can send—and perhaps has sent?—prophets outside of this organization. He would do so because of a general deviation from the path he wants us to follow."
Also WHO is the great prophet that our scriptures say will come ? the marred servant-the Davidic king.

Yes prophets can and do and will come from outside the church.
There is to be great judgements and a cleansing of the saints before
we will be (allowed) to "assist" the remnants of Jacob, and House of Israel
who's land this has been given to; to build the New Jerusalem
      and be numbered with them.
A Man like Moses, the Marred servant, One mighty and Strong,
the Branch, and I'm sure others.
A GREAT prophet is coming very soon.
I believe he will come not from within our church
and will have more power and authority than our church leaders.
He will have Christ's words. He will bring forth a record,
(the sealed portion of the (B of M) yet many (church and church members)
will not believe him or receive his words., and they will be cut off from the Lord.

3 Nephi 21: 8 And when that day shall come, it shall come to pass that kings shall shut their mouths; for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.

9 For in that day, for my sake shall the Father work a work, which shall be a great and a marvelous work among them; and there shall be among them those who will not believe it, although a man shall declare it unto them.

10 But behold, the life of my servant shall be in my hand; therefore they shall not hurt him, although he shall be marred because of them. Yet I will heal him, for I will show unto them that my wisdom is greater than the cunning of the devil.

11 Therefore it shall come to pass that whosoever will not believe in my words, who am Jesus Christ, which the Father shall cause him to bring forth unto the Gentiles, and shall give unto him power that he shall bring them forth unto the Gentiles, (it shall be done even as Moses said) they shall be cut off from among my people who are of the covenant.

This is not Joseph Smith, because this "servant", "shall be in my hand; therefore they shall not hurt him", Joseph Smith was killed.

    3. This marred servant, marred because most members
will not believe his words is John.
The "marred servant" is John the Revelator

He will be a descendent of Jesse, or of the
      royal Davidic lineage.
he will be a righteous ruler because he will
judge the people, hence he is a Davidic king.

It is this mission, ( he saw himself in Revelations)
what his own mission would be; to gather Israel
in the last days, and be an Elias - a forerunner
to the coming of Christ. Just as John the Baptist
was an Elias - a forerunner to Christ.
For this important mission he (John the Rev.)
has tarried in the flesh for 19 centuries.

He is the "Root of Jessie" in Isaiah 11,
also the Davidic King and may also be the
Man like Moses, and whom rightly belongs,
who holds the keys of the
      priesthood and the kingdom.

it is a descendant of Jesse, as well as of Joseph,

2 Verily thus saith the Lord: It is Christ.

3 What is the rod spoken of in the first verse of the
11th chapter of Isaiah, that should come of the Stem of Jesse?

4 Behold, thus saith the Lord: It is a servant in the hands of Christ,
who is partly a descendant of Jesse as well as of Ephraim,
or of the house of Joseph, on whom there is laid much power.

5 What is the root of Jesse spoken of in the 10th verse of the 11th chapter?

6 Behold, thus saith the Lord, it is a descendant of Jesse,
as well as of Joseph, unto whom rightly belongs the priesthood,
and the keys of the kingdom, for an ensign,
and for the gathering of my people in the last days.

his visage was so marred more than any man,
and his form more than the sons of men:
      15 So shall he SPRINKLE (JST gather) many nations;

The Gentiles, will harm and mar this Servant. On account of this, even as the Davidic Servant will be "marred", he will be completely healed by the LORD. This healing might involve him being "translated" and also his receiving of his "Calling and Election made sure". This healing will be truly miraculous for all to see.

The Davidic King will prepare the way for Christ's return. The Davidic King will have a three-year ministry that reaches to the world and warns the entire world of what is to come. Similarly, the 144,000 and also the ANGELS will gather the righteous from throughout the world. But the tribulations of that day will probably have begun before the Davidic King's official ministry to the World has started. We Gentiles, and also the entire World, will have two choices when the Davidic King arrives: we will either (1) harden our hearts to our own condemnation and destruction; or else (2) we will repent and prepare to join Zion. There will be a complete division between the righteous and the wicked in that day.

The Great and Marvelous Work will probably not begin until the Davidic King's three-year official ministry starts. We have not seen the "Great and Marvelous Work", yet; [I assume it means there will be another marvelous work greater than the one during Joseph Smiths time?]. This event is still future and it will be incredible. Among other things, the Davidic King will completely restore House of Israel.

The Gathering of Israel’s Outcasts from Exile

A hard fact of Isaiah’s end-time scenario is that it is not those who appear to be God’s people whom God saves in the end but those who are rejected by the majority. These “outcasts” suffer “reproach” and “ridicule,” are “excluded” from God’s people, and, like God’s servant who gathers them, are “despised” and “abhorred” until God reverses their circumstances (Isaiah 49:7–8; 51:7; 60:15–16; 61:7, 9; 66:5–8). In the end, those who are excluded and betrayed by their own people, are gathered with God’s righteous remnant: “Thus says my Lord Jehovah, who gathers up the outcasts of Israel: ‘I will gather others to those already gathered’” (Isaiah 56:3, 8).

  8. Building The New Jerusalem
It seems to be the mentallity and the misconception of the modern day Mormon, because of pride and arrogance - having the restored gospel,
that "we" LDS will build The New Jerusalem.
It is The House of Israel that will build it - we, (the very few faithful members, Gentiles, will assist.
    3 Nephi 16:16
16 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, thus hath the Father commanded me—that I should give unto this people this land for their inheritance."

Before you build that wall so big down South, to keep out those people,
you might want to find out WHO's land this - who it has been given to by the Lord, to build up the waste places, and WHY they are wasted. (swept clean)

Our only hope as Gentiles is to be "numbered with them" -
The House of Israel - and "assist" them - the House of Israel and
the remnant of Jacob in "building a city, which shall be called
    the New Jerusalem"

What will happen to all of us living in America ?
From these scriptures we can see that:
    D&C 45:
28 "fulness of my gospel". is the restored Gospel now.
29 "BUT THEY RECEIVE IT NOT". The people in
this country did not, have not, and will not receive
    the restored Gospel.
30 "the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled". Our time has ended.
    We had our chance.
    3 Nephi 16:
10,11,12 "I will bring the fulness of my gospel from among them".
The Gospel will now go back to the house of Israel.
"The first will be last and the last first".
13 "they shall be numbered among my people".
Our only hope is for us, Gentiles, the church now,
to be numbered among the House of Israel.
14,15 "to be trodden under foot of my people, O house of Israel".
Because the people of this country have not repented,
we will be trodden under foot by the House of Israel.
16 "that I should give unto this people this land for their inheritance".
This land is not ours. It has been given to the House of Israel.

11 And then will I remember my covenant which I have made unto my people, O house of Israel, and I will bring my gospel unto them.

12 And I will show unto thee, O house of Israel, that the Gentiles shall not have power over you; but I will remember my covenant unto you, O house of Israel, and ye shall come unto the knowledge of the fulness of my gospel.

13 But if the Gentiles will repent and return unto me, saith the Father, behold they shall be numbered among my people, O house of Israel.

14 And I will not suffer my people, who are of the house of Israel, to go through among them, and tread them down, saith the Father.

15 But if they will not turn unto me, and hearken unto my voice, I will suffer them, yea, I will suffer my people, O house of Israel, that they shall go through among them, and shall tread them down, and they shall be as salt that hath lost its savor, which is thenceforth good for nothing but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of my people, O house of Israel.

18 "And I will feed them that oppress thee, with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood as with sweet wine; and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Savior and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob."
    3 Nephi 21:
12 And my people who are a remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles,
yea, in the midst of them as a lion among the beasts of the forest,
as a young lion among the flocks of sheep, who,
if he go through both treadeth down and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.

Very few members will be left after the cleansing
and will be (allowed) to "assist" the remnants of Jacob,
    and House of Israel who's land this has been given to;
to build the New Jerusalem and be numbered with them.

  10. Because this comment by Chris (above) was taken from a previous post entitled
"THE DOCTRINAL BASIS OF THE CALLOUT - BY ERIC SMITH "
posted on Monday, June 13, 2016
    and it was revised and put here entitled "THE CALLOUT RE-VISITED";
my original comments were left behind.
I think it would be fair to put my reply and comments here
where they can be understood and that I may defend my point of view.

For some of you that might know me from FB,like Eric
    (I used the name Isaiah)
know that I have posted many times
that "There will be NO Call out", let me clarify this.

There WILL be a Call out, but not by the prophet
    or by the church.
It is the Lord's church and HE will do the Calling out by and through the Holy Ghost. Only he knows your heart and who is righteous and who is not.

    CALL OUT ?
    Question -
So if there's supposed to be this "Great Gathering" or this
"call-out" as many call it - that we need to hurry
    and buy all this stuff to get ready for;
    where many members are saved from the tribulations;
how do they fit into these scriptures below ?
Our scriptures paint a whole different picture of what's to happen to the church and it's members and all those(Gentiles) living in this "choice land".
I'm not saying that I don't believe the Lord will spare some people, but
it's just that if it does happen, it won't happen in the way that everyone
thinks it will and to who they think it will happen to, (members).

  11. Call out
I do NOT believe that the church will have a "call out"

By what basis is the church going to Call members out. ?
Wouldn't a person have to be very righteous and worthy ?
So how can the church tell WHO is righteous and Who is not ?
The church is only capable of looking on the outward appearance,
it can not and does not look on the heart.
The ONLY things that the church has to judge you by is:
    attendance records
    callings
    home/visiting teaching
    temple recommend holder
    tithing settlement records
    debt free
    food storage

These things really don't prove you are righteous at all.
ANYBODY can do these things and still be a very bad person.
    And I'm sure there are many in the chuch that do these things;
they appear to be good but their "hearts are far from me"
    Isaiah 29
13 "Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is "taught by the precept of men"

Only God knows your heart and knows who is righteous
and who is not. He looks on the heart, not on the outward appearance.
Just as scripture after scripture says -
it is the "Lord" who leads people out.
It's true that there are maybe some members (very very few)
that are worthy and know Christ and his voice and through
Christ, through his holy spirit will gather (some) individuals together
and lead them out from the tribulation that will come.
    Not the church.

After listening to Shelle, who wrote "The Great Gathering" book,
to say that a person will be spared from the tribulations and are
worthy to go on the call out because he has food storage,
and that if you don't you can't go,
is about the most ridiculous assumption I've ever heard.

  12. "Call out" ?
There will be NO call out - at least not by the church.
The tribulations that are coming are coming
on the church and it's members first
and the entire Gentile nation (the U.S.)

We need to WAKE UP !
Yes - It's time for us to wake up ! WAKE UP !

    2 Nephi 1:
13 O that ye would awake; awake from a deep sleep, yea,
even from the sleep of hell,
and shake off the awful chains by which ye are bound,
which are the chains which bind
the children of men, that they are carried away captive down
to the eternal gulf of misery and woe.

    2 Nephi 28:
21 And others will he pacify,
and lull them away into carnal security,
    that they will say: All is well in Zion;
yea, Zion prospereth, all is well—
and thus the devil cheateth their souls,
and leadeth them away carefully down to hell.
24 Therefore, wo be unto him that is at ease in Zion!
25 Wo be unto him that crieth: All is well!
    ---------------------------------------------------

    We are without revelation

    Isaiah 29:9,10,13,
9 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.

10 For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.

13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men

Isaiah 9:2 the people "walking in darkness"
(without revelation) refers to the church today.
"Land of the shadow of death" is the U.S.
after the invasion by the beast. Russia

9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light:
they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death,
upon them hath the light shined.
    ---------------------------------------
    Call out
Why would the lord want to spare the saints (the church and it's members)
when it is them that the Lord is sending these tribulations upon ?
(just as with ancient Israel in bondage in Egypt,
    as the scriptures say below.

If these scriptures aren't for us; referring to the church today,
how do you account for D&C 103: 15-18
Are you ready for the reenactment of Egypt ?
These things are sad, but TRUE !
These scriptures show that we (members) WILL be in bondage.
    D&C 103
    15 "Behold, I say unto you, the redemption of Zion must needs come by power;
16 Therefore, I will raise up unto my people a man, who shall lead them like as Moses led the children of Israel.
17 For ye are the children of Israel, and of the seed of Abraham, and ye must needs be led out of bondage by power, and with a stretched-out arm.
18 And as your fathers were led at the first, even so shall the
    redemption of Zion be."

Many members believe that the prophet will call the "saints" out
but the scriptures say that the saints will be taken captive for 3 1/2 years.
Captivity has always been the means of purging the
    Lord's people of their idolatry.
“I beheld, and the same horn made war against the saints, and prevailed against them… and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time” (3 1/2 years) Daniel 7:21, 25

so WHO is going to be called out ?

    ReplyDelete
  13. WHY ?
These scriptures below show that we WILL be
swept off this land because of the iniquity of the children.

    B of M
    Ether 2:11,12)
11 “And this cometh unto you, O ye Gentiles, that ye may know the decrees of God – that ye may repent, and not continue in your iniquities until the fulness come, that ye may not bring down the fulness of the wrath of God upon you as the inhabitants of the land have hitherto done.
12 Behold, this is a choice land, and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall be free from bondage, and from captivity, and from all other nations under heaven, if they will but serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ, who hath been manifested by the things which we have written.”

    (Ether 2:9,10)
9 “And now, we can behold the decrees of God concerning this land, that it is a land of promise; and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall serve God, or they shall be swept off when the fulness of his wrath shall come upon them. And the fulness of his wrath cometh upon them when they are ripened in iniquity.
10 For behold, this is a land which is choice above all other lands; wherefore he that doth possess it
shall serve God or shall be swept off; for it is the everlasting decree of God.
And it is not until the fulness of iniquity among the children of the land, that they are swept off.”

Ether says three times "swept off",
but the last time he says it, he says it like it will happen.
"And it is not until the fulness of iniquity among the children of the land, that they are swept off.”

Serve God or be swept off this "Choice Land" !
Where much is given, much is required.
Have we lived up to the lease of the land ? NO !
    -------------------------------------------------------
    3 Nephi 21
12 And my people who are a remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles, yea, in the midst of them as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep, who, if he go through both treadeth down and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.

13 Their hand shall be lifted up upon their adversaries, and all their enemies shall be cut off.

    14 Yea, wo be unto the Gentiles except they repent; for it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Father, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots;

    15 And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strongholds;

    16 And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thy land, and thou shalt have no more soothsayers;

    17 Thy graven images I will also cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee, and thou shalt no more worship the works of thy hands;

18 And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee; so will I destroy thy cities.

19 And it shall come to pass that all lyings, and deceivings, and envyings, and strifes, and priestcrafts, and whoredoms, shall be done away.

    20 For it shall come to pass, saith the Father, that at that day whosoever will not repent and come unto my Beloved Son, them will I cut off from among my people, O house of Israel;

21 And I will execute vengeance and fury upon them, even as upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.

  14. And for those of you who believe Isaiah and Daniel.
see in Daniel - "And they shall be given into his hand
until a time and times and the dividing of time."
This scripture shows that we the saints will be taken
captive for 3 and a half years.

    Isaiah 44:7
7 "Who predicts what happens as do I, and is the equal of me in
appointing a people from of old as types, foretelling things to come?

Isaiah uses what are called types from the past
    to show the future.
What has happened before, will happen again.

ALL THE PROPHECIES OF ISAIAH PERTAIN TO US TODAY
All prophecies in Isaiah are prophecies of the last days.

WHY DID THE LORD HIMSELF SAY
"for great are the words of Isaiah" and
gave us a commandment that we search them diligently.

    In Isaiah the term
Egypt always refers to the U.S. Cush is Canada
Assyria is Russia - the beast - the bear who's king is the Antichrist
The Lord uses him - the king of Assyria -" little horn is the mouth of the beast." to be a scourge to us.
He will take us captive for 3 and a half years.
(see in Daniel - "And they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time."

    Isaiah 20:
3 Then Jehovah said, Just as my servant Isaiah has gone naked and barefoot for three years as a sign and portent against Egypt and Cush,
4 so shall the king of Assyria (Russia) lead away the captives of Egypt (the U.S.) and the exiles of Cush, both young and old, naked and barefoot, with buttocks uncovered—to Egypt’s shame.
5 Men shall be appalled and perplexed at Cush, their hope, and at Egypt, their boast.
6 In that day shall the inhabitants of this isle say, See what has become of those we looked up to, on whom we relied for help and deliverance from the king of Assyria! How shall we ourselves escape?

    also Isaiah 7:17
17The Lord shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father’s house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.
18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
19 And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.
20 In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard."

The flies and bees are metaphors for warring units, winged units or planes.
    --------------------------------------------------
    Isaiah19
    1An oracle concerning Egypt:(the U.S.)
When Jehovah enters Egypt riding on swift clouds,
the idols of Egypt will rock at his presence
and the Egyptians’ hearts melt within them.

    2 I will stir up the Egyptians against the Egyptians;
they will fight brother against brother
    and neighbor against neighbor,
city against city and state against state.

    3 Egypt’s spirit shall be drained from within;
    I will frustrate their plans,
and they will resort to the idols and to spiritists,
    to mediums and witchcraft.

4 Then will I deliver the Egyptians (the U.S.)
into the hand of a cruel master;(Russia)
a harsh ruler will subject them,
says the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts

  15. D&C 45:28-31
    28 And when the times of the Gentiles is come in, a light shall break forth among them that sit in darkness, and it shall be the fulness of my gospel;

    29 BUT THEY RECEIVE IT NOT;
for they perceive not the light, and they turn their hearts from me because of the precepts of men.

30 And in that generation shall the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

31 And there shall be men standing in that generation, that shall not pass until they shall see an overflowing scourge; for a desolating sickness shall cover the land.
    ---------------------------------------------------------
"And upon my house shall it begin"
    D&C 112:24-26
24 Behold, vengeance cometh speedily upon the inhabitants of the earth, a day of wrath, a day of burning, a day of desolation, of weeping, of mourning, and of lamentation; and as a whirlwind it shall come upon all the face of the earth, saith the Lord.

    25 And upon my house shall it begin, and from my house shall it go forth, saith the Lord;

26 First among those among you, saith the Lord, who have professed to know my name and have not known me, and have blasphemed against me in the midst of my house, saith the Lord.
