THE ERUPTION THAT LED TO THE BOOK OF MORMON COMING FORWARD

This eruption caused successive failures of crops in Vermont.  When Joseph Smith, Sr. could not longer make payments on loans for seeds, etc in the colder highland climate, the family was forced to leave and start over in Upstate NY:

God uses natural means to bring about His purposes.
 
When difficult things happen to you, do not despair because it appears to be an insurmountable setback.  It could be a blessing in disguise.

    That link took me to a video discussing the Yellowstone caldera. I am not familiar with any recorded eruptions of Yellowstone in the 19th century, or even in the last half millennium.

    Wasn't it Mount Tambora that erupted, caused significant global cooling, and forced the Smith family to leave Vermont?
