Good overview articles. The author of the Women and the Priesthood article though seemed to strain at presentism trying to avoid the discussion of some early sisters who did in fact anoint with oil and pronounce blessings via their husbands priesthood. Yes, clarification of procedures and doctrinal development do happen. Such as the law of adoption and the sealing of people to certain priesthood holders such as Helen Mar Kimball to help build what some would term a dynastic linkage to the prophet. Others would say an early and not complete understanding of the sealing power. I applaud the church for getting more transparent, and trying to bring the large numbers of converts up to speed on non sanitized church history. Plus it helps prevent internet shock when people are faced with malicious propaganda.
You are correct. My mistake. It almost feels like things are being put in order for such work again. Perhaps something similar to the "secular" council of 50 is in the works too.

Clarification, not "via their husbands priesthood" but by the priesthood they held.
