Years ago, I decided that this whole trillion dollar nat gas find off the coast of Israel would attract some interest of other nations, like ants to honey.
And now, here we are.... I am not sure if this will be the pretext that will bring Russia into their final role in taking the hurt right into Jerusalem, but it could be part of the equation. I think the thing that will finally trigger the whole mess, is Russia getting sucked into it when Israel retaliates in a decisive measure for a nuke strike against Tel Aviv (many have seen it in vision - and I can conceive of it, knowing that this town is as wicked as Las Vegas is here in the USA).

This whole proxy mess that is developing in Syria is over the ability to ship gas/oil to Europe from Saudi Arabia. Why Russia feels the need to control all liquid carbon products into Europe, is beyond me.... EXCEPT, that they know that if the Sauds put a pipeline into Europe, they could undercut Russia's virtual monopoly racket that they currently have. They can pretty much set the price they want and shut off the spigot anytime they feel like it - jacking countries around at will and imposing their wills on the populace.
I never thought that WWIII would really start over oil and gas. And here we are....
Russia only has two sources of influence in the world. One is their military might, which they can use to intimidate and can use regionally as we have seen in Georgia and Ukraine, but if they tried invading Europe to increase control they would be met with strong resistance from the US.
ReplyDeleteThe other source of influence is being the primary provider of natural gas to Europe. When Putin gets mad, natural gas exports are reduced or prices are increased. If Saudi Arabia were to become a major provider of natural gas to Europe, Russia would lose that grip over European politics. Putin will go to war before he lets that happen.
