DISCOVERY OF SECOND TEMPLE ERA MIKVEH - WITHOUT HUMAN HANDS

The water was not to be taken by the hand of man - but would flow naturally due to God's intervention/doing.  Here is a video showing the pains the Jews went through to see that this command was kept:

It was for this reason that the first temple baptismal font (for the dead) in this dispensation was special in that it flowed from a spring in the Nauvoo Temple.  I am not sure if the water from the Sea of Brass was taken from pipes pressurized by higher elevation springs, or not.  This I do know, God required that the stone cut for the first temple be cut without human hands.  Here is a previous article on the topic:
