SPENCER'S CAR AND OTHER COMMENTARY

I thought the following commentary from LDSFF was interesting:

Here is a statement about the status of the car from Spencer:

Yes, it is true. I know "Spencer" personally. The car was assigned to him from the Church motor pool this time last year, as well as the specific parking space in the parking garage.

Here is a statement on revelation within the Church that I wholeheartedly agree with:

One of Satan's tricks is to condition people to think that, within a congregation of Christians (pick your denomination), only one of them talks to God. Satan accomplished this feat with nonLDS churches, which has led to a situation where the pastor/priest does the praying, pockets the tithing, grants forgiveness, and even calls a member of his church "my child." Satan accomplished this goal, now most so-called Christians have no clue how to pray, who to pray to, or how to develop a relationship with God.

Mormons have done themselves a somewhat similar disservice by redefining "prophet" to exclusively mean "President of the Church"--when, in fact, our own doctrine teaches that a prophet is defined as anyone having a testimony of God by the power of the Holy Ghost. Last time I checked, almost every person labeled a prophet in history was not an LDS general authority or even a priesthood holder at the time he (or she) spoke to God.

This isn't to say that the General Authorities are not an exclusive and special group. They are the only ones holding all of the keys of the ordinances of salvation, holding the offices of authority. So when God speaks to his church collectively, he speaks to them.

However, you'd think that by now the membership would have figured out that the Brethren are not here to predict specific calamities like earthquakes and plagues, to make predictions that would otherwise panic a global church. Evidently, the GAs are here to testify of the divinity of Jesus Christ, administer the gospel of Jesus Christ for the living and the dead, preach repentance and how to live the gospel, and how to prepare temporally and spiritually. That said, if the Lord answers prayers individually, he's also going to speak to people individually, warn them individually, and may even use them to warn a wider audience of impending trouble when it's not prudent to use only Mormon authorities to sound an alarm.

God's communication to an individual depends upon the righteous desires of the one listening, and, of course, on the will of the Lord. What occurred with Spencer and Julie Rowe is exactly how I'd expect the Lord to begin getting the word out of imminent destruction. He'll use the Brethren, to be sure, but not until it's "go time."

    1. Hi, he is referring to page #120 of Visions of Glory. "Spencer" had just left the church building after one of his monthly meetings pertaining to his calling, he is walking to his car parked in the underground parking garage . He mentions that the car he was getting into was different than the one he was driving in 2011. He also says there were cars whose brand he wasn't familiar with.

  2. Just and FYI later on in that thread at LDSFF or another a close friend said that this is not true and asked Spencer's permission to correct the fact. Spencer does not have a car assigned to him nor a parking spot.

I do think Spencer had the experiences he did however this information thrown out was not accurate.

Julie Rowe did just purchase her car that she had in her vision.

I think we have a few years before we run into where their books line up. Be prepared for today and for 20 years from now and you will be okay. Keep planting your cherry tree's and get your 72 hour kits ready.

  3. IRAQ,

Another person in the same thread at the same forum did say he knew Spencer personally and that Spencer does not have that car nor he did have any car from the Church motor pool.

Someone has the pants on fire. I am flabbergasted that any latter-day saint would resort to filthy lies and deceit

I personally believe we are being deceived by either a pranker or a poker. Where does the truth lie? I have no clue.

    1. The issues appears to have been resolved. The second friend now says he had bad info and was mistaken. Apparently, Spencer does have the car.

  4. The general statement regarding prophets and prophecy is quite correct. It's funny in sad sort of way when I tell the young men or young women that I have charge over that their class presidents, their peers, called the counselors and secretary in each of the class presidencies by prophecy and revelation. Some are shocked, some ponder, and some get a witness by the spirit that yes, 12, 13 and so on year olds can and do enjoy the gift of prophecy through the influence of the spirit. Male and female, young and old are eligible for the gifts of the spirit.

  5. There is no compelling reason why Spencer would have a car from the Church's motor pool when he meets barely every other month in his position, if I remember correctly from the book.

In an article "Face the Future with faith and Hope" in the December issue of the Ensign Elder M Russell Ballard stated that we are standing on the threshold of a new era of growth, prosperity, and abundance. Barring a calamity or unexpected international crisis. So for all you doomsdayers how does his does this play out with revelation, or was this cheerleading. If it was cheerleading would it not be deceitful?

We see a government drag us into a debt to GDP ratio of 1:1 for the first time ever and would wide economic conditions continue to deteriorate as well as financial burdens becoming greater on our youth with school debts that were unheard of in the 70's when I was in school, as well as fewer jobs capable of providing a living wage for families.
How can I trust the leadership of the church when they do not warn the people about the deterioration of the Constitution and the contaminated structure of government that prevents change. And the Mormon people still play the game and vote for either the corrupted GOP or the despotic, seditious Democrats. This is not just me, I am talking for the Founders of the Constitution of the US. Our church appears to act according to tradition and not involve itself in politics directly, but it will push for amnesty for illegals as though there was some moral superiority in the movement when we are flooded with fraud and identity theft by illegals permitted by the State of Utah, as well as a huge uptick in crime by illegals and from past amnesties and anchor babies.

How can I trust my church's leadership for prophecy, revelation. I have no doubt they are able to receive church management revelation. But can it go any further than that,
or are there some other rules about following all of the Lords commands, revelations or he will provide no more greater understanding. Are there revelations the Leadership have ignored because it was too inconvenient to there goals, or preconceptions, and as such the Lord has provided no new revelation?

Where is John Koyle when you need him. Of course John Koyle did not have the pressures of the world that the leadership of the Church have to deal with.
I don't mean this as a slight against the church leadership. I really hope for what Elder Ballard has stated can be so. I am really tired of doomsdaying, but what can I do with the evidence in front of me?

  7. Ok the guy on LDSFF who said Spencer didn't have a car given to him by the church just apologized. He texted spencer after all the hub bub and asked if he had the car from the vision and Spencer said he did.
