Here is the warning again:
The Book of Mormon, for instance, speaks in many places, of the overthrow of the government that should exist on this land if they should reject the divine message contained therein (Ether 9:20, Ether 2:7-12, 2 Ne. 10:19). Inasmuch as they repent not, the Lord has said that he would visit them in his anger (Alma 8:29), and that he would throw down all their strongholds (3 Ne. 21:15). And he further says, that he will cut off their horses out of their midst (3 Ne. 21:14). This will doubtless be done through some great calamity or disease. He also says that he will cut off the cities of our land (3 Ne. 21:15), that all manner of lying, deceits, hypocrisy, murders, priestcrafts, whoredoms and secret abominations shall be done away (3 Ne. 21:19), having reference particularly to this nation... We are told, too, that the nature of these judgments is to be swift (D&C 121:24 3, Ne. 24:5) and terrible (D&C 109:45, 1 Ne. 12:5), coming upon them like a fierce wind (Alma 26:6), when they expect it not; when they are crying peace and safety, behold sudden destruction is at their doors (1 Thes. 5:3).
People will be completely oblivious to this and will not see it coming. Why will that be? Because of something called "normalcy bias" (CLICK LINK) and because of general wickedness. Even if you are keeping the commandments and your life is generally in order, without precise parity with the whisperings of the Holy Ghost, you simply will not see it coming. This generates the "All is Well in Zion" mindset among, "card carrying" members. Those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, often find themselves at extreme odds with the rest of the "herd". The louder they clamor, the crazier the ones raising their voices sound to the rest. Most just want to go back to sleep and rest peacefully to the sound of the droning fiddle as their romanized surroundings succomb to the heat and flame.
If you are wicked, you just simply think that everything is normal because you are "doing it" along with every one else - so what is the problem, anyway. Besides that, nothing has happened to you in your depraved state (to this point, anyway), so what could possibly happen in the near-term or as a long-term consequence?
And so it goes. For my favorite troll, Russ. Yes, God will most likely ask via normalized channels for the people to physically relocate and come out of Babylon before the sudden destruction. Of course, most people would never leave their homes, nor their cars, nor their big-screens, nor their cushy jobs, nor their friends and family. In short - why bother? All is well after all. What could possibly go wrong?
Truth be known, that will be one of their last bad moves. I am going with Orson on this one - and getting out just as they are crying peace (in Israel and elsewhere). That is actually the time to act decisively.
On a side note, I will be in Cardston likely this next weekend and would love to meet with people from that area. I have a powerpoint presentation and I would like to use it. I was quite certain that there is not a "girls camp" purchased yet. The last one that was attempted was voted down by the people of Boundary Creek was the Church was trying to purchase the land. I wanted to make sure before I commented though so I phoned the High Council man that was working on that project who also happens to be a Real Estate agent. He told me that there is nothing in the works right now. He has a potential property but Salt Lake has not given them any go ahead to go further at this moment in time.
