A "SPENCER-ESQUE" STATEMENT FROM THE TEACHINGS OF EZRA T. BENSON
Spencer said that there would be several deaths amongst the Brethren. Many proud - just as in the days of Lehi and Jesus say - that could NEVER happen to us. And so it did - and many perished, both in the ecclesiastical hierarchy of the day and in amongst the lay members who followed them blindly. These were both nearly "race-level extinction events" for ancient Israel. It will be no different for modern Israel.

ReplyDeleteWelp, this goes right along with what Elder Hales said as the 2nd speaker in the Saturday morning session at last General Conference. We were persecuted, then have lived in relative peace for some time now, but, it will not always remain as such.
