WHY WILL WE BE SWEPT OFF? A QUESTION FOR RUSS.....

Folks, this is quite clear.  I think most of this country has quit serving God in any meaningful way.  IF this is the case, then the statement in Ether says we will be swept off.  So, my question to the naysayers is this:

Just what is the tipping point that we must pass in order for us to finally get swept off?  What is the trigger?  How bad will it really get?  Usually its when the Prophets have gone silent on the matter.  Have the Prophets not gone silent on so much?  Why have they gone silent on food storage?  Why have they gone silent on the condemnation over taking the Book of Mormon lightly?  Was President Benson silent because he could not speak, or because he was constrained not to say more?

These are all hard-hitting questions that each person must ask ourselves.  In my lesson yesterday, I ended drawing the parallels between the days of Noah (destruction phase) and who was sent before Noah.  Our Enoch was Joseph.  Instead of embracing the whole Consecration/City of Zion message, we stepped in it as a people and rejected it.  We will still have those things brought about, for God's plan will not be frustrated, but there will be much sweeping of the Gentiles in order to bring it about on the alternate track.

Here is what got me spun up:

  1. While this makes a lot of sense to me , it just doesn't seem quite fair to the generation coming up that hasn't had the opportunity to be reminded of food storage and things over and over again. In this respect, I am not sure that this is why we are not hearing as much about it. Isn't God more fair than that? What about to the converts of the church? Doesn't make sense.

    1. Was it fair to the children of Israel who grew up in slavery? It was the parent's faults for not heeding the prophets. Therefore, their children suffered right along with them. There is much that we can/must do, and if we don't, our children will suffer. But that doesn't mean God loves them any less. God will answer the prayers of our children just as much as any other generation. But remember... our children have not only been chosen for this generation, they've also been prepared. They're the Zion generation and have the spiritual capacity to make it through the upcoming tough times. Have faith, brother :)

  2. Three times repeated in three verses. Must be REALLY important.

In response to ANON (if that is Russ), it wouldn't seem fair, if we didn't have all the technology that we have today. The English talks are downloadable back to January of 1971. Even Spanish is downloadable to 1990. I don't know of a single area here in Mexico where the bishops haven't counseled the people to do food storage.

The prophets haven't said much recently, but trust me, the Stake Presidents and Bishops have been saying a lot over those subjects.

I would know that there is access, because look where this blog has been opened up. Lots and lots of countries including even Subsaharan Africa. My blog though it doesn't have the hits of this blog, has been hit in 100 different countries, from the most advanced down to the most humble.

    Technology removes that excuse, Anon.

  3. I agree with this, we are ripe now in iniquity, why should we be allow more time to destroy our children because that is whats happening now, I firmly teach my children the gospel but because they are still in the world have come to see me as being a little biased and prejudiced with my stance on homosexual marriage. People now look down upon you and your the outcast for having anything said against this practise including inactive or non lds family members, It now seems like the apostles and prophets are more concentrating on spiritual preparedness, the time has come for us to prepare to be a Zion people.
