I just had a reader comment that we have 12 Apostles and a Prophet, so what is the use of this blog.
In other words, we will be told everything we need to know in Conference. I would like to address that. What we are given in Conference is simply stating the facts based on Scripture. This blog, gives commentary that is scripturally-based and NEVER deviates from scripture or doctrine. If there are errors along those lines, they are mine and are due to lack of deep study on a subject or opinion - which I usually state. If there is something that disagrees with the Brethren, I would love to be called out on it; including Spencer's book. I know my doctrine and cannot remember the last time I found out something that I had not already known before. So, if it does not fit, it does not end up here. There is a lot of speculation on the blog - it is simply that, but even the speculation is harmonious with some tenet or doctrine.
I find that many people will try and call me out - but it is due to their ignorance of the doctrine or my intentions or my history. My stance always supports the living and past prophets and, even when someone like Brigham is being thrown under the bus, I always go to ground and will stick with what Joseph had to say, or those who were closest to him and got it directly from the horse's mouth. Snuffer is openly criticizing our modern and past prophets. I blame the people that were under them if things did not appear to be "above board" in the historical timeline. I find the same thing applies as I parent or shepherd my charges. When there is obedience, and good counsel is followed, things work out pretty well. When you have one, or two who are riding rough-shod over good principle, you cannot blame the rest. I do not blame God for the 1/3 who made poor choices and mucked up a perfectly good situation for the rest of the gang.
So, all I can say is to wait and see. You will find that stuff that is not talked about over the Gen Con pulpit will come to fruition. I never once heard about the Sols Cuardisto prophecy from a GA, but did hear about it from a former Bishop who is watching and waiting. This prophecy that was run past the GA's and that did have an official stamp of approval on it, is not mainstream, yet backs up 100% what has been muttered over the pulpit. Also, even though GA Smith did mention his prophecy over the pulpit decades ago, it is never talked about today. So, my blog simply brings the obscure to light and places them against the back-drop of current events so that many can judge for themselves, that which they otherwise might not have been able to consider. If you know me, you know this is my intent and the Spirit is bearing witness to you right now that this is a true message, and notwithstanding my shortcomings, I am a messenger with Father's purpose and glory in mind.
If you have no such witness, then you are not bound.
there are several kinds of people, those who know the scriptures and do not believe, those who do not know the scriptures and those who know the scriptures and believe. Most misunderstanding comes from a persons lack of knowledge and the interjection of personal bias. We call this the philosophies of men mingled with scripture. The strange thing is, the more you delve into the scriptures, the more your eyes are opened and the more accepting you become of ideas that at first glance seemed far fetched. I would not let it bother you that someone, who it appears, made a sincere comment based on a lack of information and understanding. Hopefully this person will keep their mind open to new ideas and let the spirit be their guide.
ReplyDeleteThat persons comment annoyed me more than you'll ever know! I can't believe how naive some people are. How they live in la la land and "if it prophet doesn't say anything, than all is well" hogwash! The prophet is not going to come out and say "oh, by the way, we are going to have a 10.0 earthquake this weekend...just FYI." Are you kidding me? People who are not awake are in for a HUGE surprise and not the fun exciting surprise either. I guess all we can do is pray for those people. On another note, there is a couple in my ward who just got their mission call and headed to the Provo MTC for some educational training and they said the teachers were going over the projections on where the church will be (number wise) in the year 2050....maybe I'm reading too much into things, but it made me think that things aren't going to be wrapping up as quickly as I had thought? What are your thoughts on that? I guess they have to plan for the future since the leaders don't know exactly when the Savior will return. I guess I hoped they had some kind of an idea...more than we know?? Thoughts?

You keep doing what you're doing brother! This blog is awesome! The book of Revelation is right in our faces too and the GA's don't expound on it in full detail. The Lord expects all TRUE seekers of further light and knowledge to exercise their gift of the Holy Ghost and inquire for themselves. It's once again, all about agency. The Lord won't give a steak to a baby who needs milk first. And he won't force feed anyone milk at all.
ReplyDeleteBut still, all TRUTH stands independent now and forever. Seek Him or don't. Discern His true servants or don't. He will still have a place to put you for eternity because He CAN, and He WILL. And He's VERY GOOD AT BEING GOD!
IRAQ has always ,as far as I can tell, has supported and upheld TRUTH. Has never professed anything contrary to the scriptures or encouraged anyone to go away from Church Leadership. I commend his tireless efforts to bring us inspirational and timely things to ponder.
In fact, I'll testify that posts in this blog have led me to explore and receive further light and knowledge. Things that just fell into place in a miraculous way because he felt inspired to post the information to begin with. This is a ministry of some sorts here by a servant of God, so critics beware. You may be treading on dangerous ground.
You don't have to come here. We enjoy our peaceful time here conversing. I testify the Spirit of Truth dwells among these posts. So leave IRAQ alone. WE LOVE HIM AND THINK HE'S AWESOME!
If anything, be human and remember EVERY CHILD OF GOD HAS FEELINGS! And you don't like yours hurt any more than anyone else.
I don't have to like you or agree with you critics of this blog, but the Lord says I have to love you. So there, I LOVE YOU! Now have a good day and REPENT and BEHAVE! I tell you to do so in the name of Jesus Christ, amen!
It’s an evil book.
