UTAH/NEVADA VOLCANO BIGGER THAN YELLOWSTONE (NOT ACTIVE)

Wow - just when you thought you had heard it all, this comes along.  That was one big momma!  From what I understand about the Hawaiian system, a hot spot remains in one location under the crust as the crust moves over it.  Could it be that the Yellowstone hotspot was formerly below the Utah/Nevada border and that it worked its way to the northeast?

Kudos to BYU for some great research!
