I have no doubt that Utah will pass this law. Even the LDS church is under huge pressure to make this lifestyle more compatible to its membership. As a 501-C3 government granted corporation, the Church can become influenced by a wicked and perverse government. Can you imagine if the tax exempt status was revoked? What happened to the Boy Scouts of America? The Church created a website (www.mormonsandgays.org) to help the members be more compassionate in their association with those of this persuasion and even started having Stake Presidents teach it last spring. However that was quickly stopped when a sample survey result of the membership on this subject matter came back as hugely negative. This website is well done, as most of the material the brethren puts out, but I found too much compromise as you listen to Elder Christofferson’s video, starting at the 4:45 mark going through to 5:22...primarily starting at 5:06 Let me know if you caught what and how he was trying to justify homosexual feels and desires. The way we were counseled just 20 years ago, would have treated the very desire in our hearts as a sin. The foundation for this doctrine is found in Matt. 5:28, 3 Nephi 12:28, also D&C 63:16 where it tells us that the very desire in our hearts before the act is committed begins the sin. What a slippery slop we are on now. Yes destruction is coming our way and soon I’m afraid.
And one last thing, racism was rampant among members of the church in the early years. As righteous members have evolved and prayed, people are much more compassionate for the most part and accepting of different ethnicities. The same goes for the treatment of people who suffer the temptation of same sex attraction. I believe that while the sin cannot be tolerated, all of Gods children are to be loved and cared for. Elder Christofferson is inspired, not caving to societies influences.
With the condition that said hetero relationship is with your wife and with no others...
Gay marriage will pass in Utah but not for the reasons shown by Anon. It is the new in thing in Babylon. The home state of the owner of this blog came out with stats today that say that nearly one in five marriages carried out in Washington are gay marriages.
This happens in Utah, and there might just be the powerful earthquakes in Utah that President Hinckley hinted were coming when he announced the reconstruction of the tabernacle nine years ago.
Remember, God does NOT decide to destroy a people the moment they turn to sin. It is when these sins are perpretrated among His people in His sacred spots.
God didn't decide to destroy Jerusalem the moment that David cast his lustful eyes on Bathsheba. Neither did God decide to destroy Jerusalem the moment that Solomon laid his eyes on strange women. Nor when Jeroboam shouted "Israel, to your tents!" when the kingdom was divided. Nor did it happen with other kings that ruled with wickedness.
The moment that God decided to lay the boom down was when Manasseh son of Hezekiah built up the high places that Hezekiah had destroyed. He lifted up idols to Baal, Ashtaroth, and Moloch INSIDE THE TEMPLE OF GOD. Baal and Ashtaroth were gods with wich Israel commited sexual sins, bringing more light to Israel "fornicating (the Portuguese and Spanish versions of the Bible have "prostituting") after other gods. Moloch was one step further; he demanded the blood of the innocent children and virgin women, and Manasseh sacrificed his son through the fires of Moloch INSIDE THE TEMPLE.
God sees this and he is absolutely incensed as well he should be. Sexual sins of varying types commited inside a house that has HOLINESS TO THE LORD written on it. Murders and sacrifices as well to false gods.
The Book of Mormon is NO DIFFERENT. The Nephites were also doing these types of things and even worse shortly before their destruction, robbing the women of their chastity in a violent manner, and afterwards killing them and esting their meat.
God will not allow His house to be defiled by those who make sacrilege of His holy ordinances. I defintely see this option to legalize gay marriage in the state where there are the most members, as a symbolic slap in the face to God, and if they allow it, then we will start to see what the scripture in Doctrine and Covenants means when the Lord warns:
UPON MY HOUSE IT SHALL BEGIN.
Don't make the same mistakes as Manasseh and the Nephites in the 300s AD...

ReplyDeleteI meant to say engaging in homosexuality is wrong after marriage, but engaging in a sexual relationship after heterosexual marriage is not.

The majority voice of Utahans was silenced today.
