MY TAKE ON SNUFFER GETTING SNUFFED.....

I bet the court has convened right about now.  No one should ever take glee in someone else's difficulty.  I think Denver has some amazing things to say - but I also have some fundamental differences with what he began to say towards the end of his "ministry".  Those same things put me at odds with most folks on LDSFF and I began pulling the "apostate card" and shredding many on that forum for stating that the current Brethren were out of the way, while the apostates with their views had it right.  I turned the argument over to the Lord and the Spirit told me after the last General Conference whom I should tell to go pound sand.  I was tossed off the LDSFF wagon shortly after that.  I also was able to detect at the same time, a false spirit about Doug Mendenhall and called him out, for which I still get some "hater" comments on this blog for.  I publish them for amusement.  Doug Mendenhall apparently would run his stuff past Denver Snuffer (as a sounding board).  Both have gotten off track - in my opinion.....  Mendenhall may well end up in the same dire straits as Denver as time goes on.

So anyway, if I was reading Denver right, he began to say that the train got off the tracks when Brigham Young went west with the Saints - and basically, if I am reading the LDSFF apostates correctly, this jumping of the tracks occurred when Brigham Young began to (my words - "consume it upon his lusts" and) practice polygamy against anything that Joseph taught.  If I were a betting man, I would say many of the apostates on LDSFF are some breed of Community of Christ groupies that were disaffected with the p-hood being given to women and who are attempting to recruit confused LDS or some such a matter.  That is where their doctrinal base seems to be coming from.  Or, they are simply UIDOFA (Under the Influence of the Devil Or Fallen Angels).

Folks, miracles have largely ceased within the Church, as Denver states.  That is a correct statement, in my opinion.  I read Mormon's warning in Mormon Ch 8 yesterday - but in the contemporary Church, this is due to lack of faith and general wickedness - and not due to train jumping the tracks in 1844 when Brigham became the leader.   The Church was rife with miracles in the 1800's, but generally ceased when the people rejected polygamy and higher ordinances at the end of the century.  If Brigham were a fallen prophet, fueled by sexual fantasy, many of the things he did and was guided to do, simply would not have happened.  My ancestors, who were part of the polygamous realm, simply would not have enjoyed the gifts of the Spirit that they enjoyed in that day - had they been engaging in egregious sin.  It simply NEVER would have happened.

The flip side to that is that we do not enjoy those experiences today to the level that they did back in the day.  When we obey with exactness, we reap the benefits of that obedience - and the signs follow as an affirmation that we are on the correct path.  We, for going through what we will be called to endure, will reap great miracles in the near future as we regain that former glory and strength.  By force of circumstance, we will be called to live the law as laid down in Section 132 as seven women take hold of the extremely scarce resource of men in that day after the plagues, the wars, the scourging, the general devastation is over.  At that point, those who remain will be living the second commandment in perfectness - we will desire that our neighbor have what we have - even over our own selfish inclinations.  The desire to have more than another will be vanquished and we, in our extremity, will simply desire that our neighbor enjoys the same comforts as we have been afforded.  The "Joneses" will be a thing of the past.  The highest order of consecration (plural marriage) will be a natural thing in the scheme of things.

Where baser division, pride and envy would not allow the elevated sharing, consecration, giving to occur; extremity, need, being stripped, broken, molded, shaped will bring each survivor to a place where God can make them into a terrestrial being, and a limited harvest of celestial beings will emerge.  A good harvest indeed for the patient husbandman who is the author of our salvation.

So, I part company with Snuffer (and many readers of this blog) in his theological musings.  I think Brother Brigham was certainly imperfect as a mere mortal - but I do not consider him one who has departed the way.  I believe the proof is in the pudding.  I notice patterns - and the Church, if it has come under condemnation - did so after the people proved they were not capable of living a terrestrial order AFTER 1890.  The best blood in the Church was squirreled away in Southern Alberta and other areas where it was driven when the Church was heavily persecuted in the late 1800's.  It was AFTER the people were faithless and gave up the fight that our opposition truly stopped.  That detail is telling.  As we prove ourselves even MORE faithless with this "gay marriage" mess that the anti-Christ is foisting on us, our persecution will become virtually non-existent as the d'evil seals us his and we descend into the deep sleep most are under.

Then, we are snuffed - burned as stubble with the tares after the harvest is completed.  May we rise and do better than this!

  1. You have bitter, dark spirit about you. Fill yourself with light and love. Peace be with you.

    1. I recently wrote a graduate paper on the influence of secret combinations and got a similar response from my professor. I consider such a response similar to Laman and Lemual's response to Nephi in 1 Nephi 16:1-3. I don't think Iraq's commentary is bitter. He may have a dark spirit about him trying to convince him to apostatize, as we all do, but he is choosing not to heed the dark spirit.
Personally, I want to know the truth so we can work towards real change that will usher in the reign of Christ and I find Iraq's posts to be refreshing. They remind me what my priorities should be. As Sarah Menet said, "Whether I live in Christ or die in Christ doesn't matter." However, having said this, I have to remind myself not to resort to anger and bitterness when I watch the news and consider what the Gadiantons are doing to us and the lack of participation among the Elders of Israel to try to avoid the trials and tribulations.

  3. Wow what a great post!. I love Denver Snuffer but I have to agree with you on everything you posted. I really do think that Denver is a good and decent man. Heck he is a 100% home teacher. Unlike myself who at times falls way short of that. I do think that his conclusions are out of line but I don't think he needs to be excommunicated. The man and his blog (I haven't read his books but I have read some of his blog) have a very strong testimony.

As you have posted above you really nailed the issue at hand. We have to perfect ourselves in order to bring the blessings of having the full priesthood power. In this day it has become very hard to do so. O'l scratch has done quite a number on many of us and we need to look to the author of our salvation. We really need to look to Christ and live.

I don't know how my family will fair through these tough times. I have been working hard to keep myself in the right place so I can be an asset to those around me. When it is all said and done though all of my preps may fall like a house of cards at least I have my faith and my priesthood as long as I stay close to the Savior it just doesn't matter.

  4. Hi iraq

It's been a while since I posted here. It is well worth the time reading all his recommended articles all linked on his homepage. ..I am writing from my finicky cell phone out in Australia somewhere. ..so please bear with me.

I think before you jump to any conclusions about brigham, section 132, polygamy and the traditions of the fathers, it would be a worthwhile effort to go check out what I have found in the last few years to be hands down some of the best research on the restoration by one who believes:

  5. Hi Iraq,

You might want to pay very close attention to where the church is going with the issue of polygamy. It is quietly putting out the notion that Joseph Smith never condoned or participated in polygamy, and it was Brigham Young & Co. that did it.

What does that mean? What are the ramifications of this position? What conclusions can we draw from the church's new direction? If you think it through, you might reconsider your position re: the church leadership. The church is clearly moving in a populist direction. Whether it becomes clear to you now or later, you will eventually see it.

And then you will see what Snuffer has been saying, as well as those who agree with his message. Blind (or dogmatic) faith will never lift anyone to heaven.

    1. SAY WHAT????

You make all kinds of wild claims about the "New Direction" of the church and you have NOTHING to back it...

      That's called "Apostate"

  6. Not with you on this one. I can tell you have read very little of Denver's words and therefore your post makes you look foolish... and big matt, we can't perfect ourselves. I would suggest you get a better understanding of the atonement and turn your self and your sins to Christ and be perfected in Him.

    1. Did you read my post? I know I cannot perfect myself without the help of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ... that would be a duh! I'm not just along for the ride here I'm doing what I can and hoping for Christ's atonement to fill in my stupid gaps and gaffs.

I don't think I can defend Denver here. He didn't even defend himself... now he is X'd. He has 30 days to appeal the decision but the way he didn't defend himself in the first place, I would doubt that he will appeal.

After reading more from him I can see how this all came about. Interesting to say the least. Give it a while to set in and I think the truth will eventually show itself. Until then... Thomas S Monson is the Prophet and I will follow him. It is my Savior Jesus Christ that has testified that to me.

      enough said.

  7. I write this reply only for the fact that there have been errors in the things you have written or posted on this blog, but I still like to review the work done here for there is still much that is correct and I have profited from them.

We know from 2 Nephi 4:34 to only trust in the Lord or in other words to seek only His counsel and not man's. Because I do not want the cursing that follow when we trust blindly our fellow men, I search out what is truth both in and out of this Church. It is this pattern that bears true fruits and our connection back into His presence. I have been blessed with several gifts from Him, one of which is an open heart or child like learning and acceptance, but with that I have sought for the gift of discernment. I was blessed with that gift only within the last two years. Please know that any person that you read or listen to, must be validated by the Spirit. You can even seek more than one witness to that which you desire and God will provide that witness, which I have experienced many times.

In studying and listen to Denver and I have had numerous witnesses to the truths he has revealed, but even Denver will tell us repeatedly to go to our Lord for confirmation, which is a correct principle. What is most interesting to this discussion with you Eric, is that Father has given me a strong witness to President Monson’s present calling and position. He does hold the keys of his office for this church. I have even talked to a man (not of this church) who has been called by our Lord, in person, to assist the homeless souls in the Ogden area. A witness of this calling was again validated by the spirit.

We must sift through the clutter to learn what the Lord has prepared for us to learn in this life and to be grateful for even the difficult times that are at our door steps right now. This time is very exciting and even difficult for those who are here on earth today, but offer those who are not asleep the growth to progress faster. We MUST seek our Lord’s will for our lives and support those men and women, willing to accept righteous service in and out of this church. Do not put any of them up as a standard in place of our Lord…even Monson or Denver.

Denver’s calling is specific to teaching and restoring truth that has been lost. So if that is true, and I know it is, we have an obligation…no a choice to go to the Lord and learn that for ourselves what is true. The Prophet Joseph Smith taught us:
When you get the Spirit of God, you feel full of kindness, charity, long-suffering, and you are willing all the day long to accord to every man that which you want yourself. You feel disposed all the day long to do unto all men as you would wish them to do unto you. What is it that will enable one man to govern his fellows aright? It is just as Joseph Smith said to a certain man who asked him, "How do you govern such a vast people as this?" "Oh," says Joseph, "it is very easy." "Why," says the man, "but we find it very difficult." "But," said Joseph, "it is very easy, for I teach the people correct principles and they govern themselves;" and if correct principles will do this in one family they will in ten, in a hundred and in ten hundred thousand. How easy it is to govern the people in this way! It is just like the streams from City Creek; they spread through the valleys and through every lot and piece of lot. So it is with the government of God; the streams of life flow from the Great Fountain through the various channels which the Almighty has opened up, and they spread not only throughout the world, wherever there are any Saints that have yielded obedience to the commandments of God. The fountain is inexhaustible, and the rivers of life flow from the fountain unto the people. (John Taylor, JD 1:57-8)

  9. So reading your next to last two paragraphs, you sound remarkably like Denver. You just move the date of people's slide back from 1844 the JS->BY transition to 1890 JT->WW.

JS couldn't get the saints to live a celestial law.

BY, JT & WW couldn't get the saints to live a terrestrial law.

Since 1890 we're collectively telestial & finally mostly accepted, though we still seem to want to persist in having other "christians" see us as christian.

  10. I wonder what Denver feels he will get get by not toeing the line. Most of his following are LDS and once they find him wanting I hope they break ranks and run. Is it I am right at all costs mentality then he will be broken. I have never read his books. Started reading his blog seemed very well researched. More intellectual than spiritual even though discussing spiritual things. since his controversy has come up I abandoned as I would with Visions of Glory if it comes under church scrutiny as denver has. I will not call my own church membership into question on theoretical. yep its nice and fun to be into this stuff and educating and it helps me currently obey the prophets. But I will obey as much as I hated obey on my mission it really is the precursor to everything.
