We have been commanded to grow a garden. Not necessarily eat from it - but grow one. There is something very deep and spiritual about growing, storing and eating your own food. It is the agenda of the evil one to make you dependent on others for your survival. The only one we are commanded and persuaded to rely upon is Christ - because His atonement is the key to come back into the Father's presence clean every whit through His cleansing blood. Though our sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow.
Hopefully, all who read this blog recognize the seriousness of things going on around us and are making that effort. There will be no supermarkets when this is all over. No microwaveable pizza, no quick meals - just the basics; if you have prepared and have even those on hand. If you have given a half-hearted effort at growing a garden, you will find your efforts have been in vain. My family unit is seriously trying to make a garden we can survive off of with stored grains. It is an effort, to say the least. It takes dedication and sense of purpose.
Emily is a blog reader who is interested in spiritual and physical preparedness for what is coming. We (my wife and I) met with her and her husband a few months ago to share a few meals in the evening and I have to say that I have met few who have her faith and determination to be ready for what comes. Some people will be leaders and have been raised for the purposes of training the rest of us who have been asleep, but who were able to make it through according to the grace of God.
Here is Emily's latest creation - a gig on KSL5 in SLC:
