Wyoming lawmaker introduces doomsday bill

CHEYENNE – Fearing an economic and political collapse nationwide, Wyoming lawmakers are moving ahead with legislation to deal with a doomsday scenario -- complete with plans to create a state currency.
“Things happen quickly sometimes — look at Libya, look at Egypt, look at those situations,” the bill’s GOP sponsor State Rep. David Miller told the Star-Tribune in Casper. “We wouldn’t have time to meet as a Legislature or even in special session to do anything to respond.”

According to the Star-Tribune, House Bill 85 would create a state-run “government continuity task force,” to prepare Wyoming for potential disruptions in food and energy to a complete breakdown of the federal government.
Miller is also asking for the task force to look into creating its own state currency in the event the dollar loses value entirely.
The Wyoming House of Representatives advanced the legislation on Monday, but eliminated language calling for plans to implement its own military draft, army and acquire an aircraft carrier.
The bill now must pass two more House votes before it would head to the Senate for consideration.
“I don’t represent people in Illinois or New Jersey. I represent people in Wyoming,” Miller said. “And I want them to be protected from any catastrophic events that may beset the rest of the country.”
I have no idea why Utah is not as advanced as Wyoming in implementing similar preparations with the exception of ocean-going craft, for defense and protection and support of the people here. At the very least a system of currency with the goal of building up precious metals to reinforce a currency. Having said that, I know that it would be far too embarrassing for people here in Utah, mostly image conscious Mormons to make such preparations.
ReplyDeleteIt is no mystery that Europe's financial woes are where we are going to be in a short period of time with our government's out of control spending with the inability to control the entitlement insanity. The world can deal with Europe's misbehavior but not coupled with the America's financial abuses, it is a matter of time. There is no such thing as a little bit of socialism, there is no controlling such an insatiable appetite for more. We all become more poor or a we could see a sudden collapse of the currency and the world economy. John Koyle's prophecies refer to this same event, also see NDE's and dreams of others on this blog, not to mention of course the early LDS prophets who have spoken of the collapse of America, starting with Joseph Smith.
The most likely scenario is when a collapse occurs disrupting movement of goods you have riots, then the blame game starts liberals vs conservatives vs race and all the variations of these people. I see no rational way to deal with this unless we can separate. We are a separate and divided country right now. It's the need to provide for ourselves to maintain a steady economy that prevents things from going haywire with this much difference between us.
