EUROPEAN WARS OF DESOLATION

THIS IS YET IN THE FUTURE AT THE HANDS OF THE MUSLIM INVADERS. THE ONLY PEOPLE TO SUCCESSFULLY REPEL THEM WILL BE THE IRISH, IN PART DUE TO GEOGRAPHY AND IN PART DUE TO THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF GUERRILLA TACTICS NOT LONG AGO FORGOTTEN.

Elder Orson Pratt said in 1879:
"When that day shall come there shall be wars, not such wars as have come in centuries and years that are past and gone, but a desolating war. When I say desolating, I mean that it will lay these European nations in waste. Cities will be left vacated, without inhabitants. The people will be destroyed by the sword of their own hands. Not only this but many other cities will be burned; for when contending armies are wrought up with terrible anger, without the Spirit of God upon them, when they are left to themselves, there will be no quarter given, no prisoners taken. But a war of destruction, of desolation, of the burning of the cities and villages, until the land is laid desolate. That is another thing that will come before the coming of the Son of Man." (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 20:151, given on March 9, 1879.)

  2. Lindsay Girl,

I am the only poster - not related to Sarah Menet in any way.

I came across this quote a little while ago - expecting for some time now to have something concrete from the Bretheren that would indicate the final destiny of Europe right before the Lord comes again. They were invaded once before by the Muslims that nearly saw them into what is now modern Germany but were stopped at Vienna (my wife has visited the site where they were stopped). In that invasion, they overran the Vatican. It will happen again but the devastation will be total this time. The Muslims are to the unrighteous Europeans what the Lamanites are to the unrighteous Gentiles of America - a group to keep people who should know better, in line; or to utterly destroy them when their day of grace is past.
