PROPHECY FULFILLED - THE MOUNT OF OLIVES SHALL CLEAVE IN TWAIN, DEAD SEA HEALED

I am constantly bombarded by people who think the Bible is a crock. So I always ask "Just what do you know about geology or geography? ------ Cuz let's take a little ride you and me...... heh, heh, heh...."

This is one of the little factoids that I love to put in their craws to chew on.

So there is this nice little prophecy by Zechariah about the moment of Justice when Christ returns in the heavens at the height of murderous bloodshed of the inhabitants of Jerusalem - and places his foot on the Mount of Olives. At that point, the mount is cleaved in twain (two) and it provides a clean escape for the remaining Jews who have survived. The conquering forces of Gog and Magog are then destroyed and the people worship their King and recognize his real identity by the prints in his hands and in his feet.

Then he says, "These are the wounds that I received in the house of mine friends". What joy and what simultaneous profound sorrow at this critical point of history.

Here is the article on the findings of the geologists who were seismic sounding for oil in the area and found a fault line that bisects the Mount of Olives:

  1. The fault shown in the geologic map above runs from the base of the Hill of Evil Council through the southernmost peak of the Mount of Olives (Mount of Corruption). It doesn't even touch the ancient city of Jerusalem, so how can anybody flee from Jerusalem through a valley there? Please see http://zechariahfourteenfive.wordpress.com for proof that the idea of fleeing through a split Mount of Olives is bogus.

  2. Zechariah,

I love your analysis on Zech 14:5. Fascinating history there - with the aquaduct that was only partially finished due to the geological activity and demise of the wicked king. I am sure you will find that prophecy of the remaining Jews fleeing the seiged Jerusalem will occur just as prophesied. I did not say that the fault line runs thru the old city - just that it would be a means of escape to get out of the city when the Savior comes again. Keep up the good work.
